It will not matter, IMO, Michigan is the best team in the country and unfortunately they will win the National Championship, but there will be a cloud over their head.

Hard to say. They play such a powder puff schedule. Even Ohio State isnt all that great so we'll see when they face an SEC team (that they dont have any "intel" on)

You both realize that every power 4 conference has someone on the staff or someone that specializes in this area right?

Someone who reviews previous games of the season of opposition teams and reviews signs/ play calling/ play likelihood percentage etc. right?

Looks the problem Harbaugh had is this guy he had on the staff actually travelled and potentially filmed signs etc./sidelines.

Since this whole bullshit was launched as a direct attack on Harbaugh/school evidence was submitted to the Big Ten that OSU and Rutgers shared Michigan calls and signs with Purdue for the Big Ten Championship game in 2022. The employee that was in charge of compiling this spreadsheet and delivering this to Purdue has been interviewed by the Big Ten as well. Let's see how much Roger Goodell the Big Ten Commissioner can get.

I am going to disagree because it is different. Believe me, Harbaugh took his punishment, if there is no guilt, why take the hit? Sorry, I believe Michigan has one hell of a team and I have posted that I also believe they will win the National Championship, but like Belichick in New England, there was some improprieties here, you know it, I know it and the American people know it.

Right on the $$. Harblah willingly took the suspension before the investigation was completed. It immediately reminded me of the cheatriots NOT putting up a fight or appeal when they lost a 1rst rounder and were hit with some substantial fines—as long as they kept the Lombardi. They gave more pushback over an overinflated football! In both cases the “guilty party” takes their medicine to stop the process from getting worse.

On Wall Street its about pleading guilty to lesser crimes so the corruption of the system isnt exposed. That was evident with Madoff, Enron, etc.

In football there is clearly a web of info sharing, but does it matter? Teams adjust, change signs, mix things up. Its not like what the Pats were doing with filming practices, which does constitute an unfair competitive advantage.

Yep Michigan has only won the last couple of of years because of stealing signs that get changed every game in college. :laugh4:

Not to mention the Big10 investigating Rutgers and Ohio State for doing the same now.

Harbaugh finally got a QB is the reason for the change around.

This is my favorite thing about the whole deal. People acting like only Michigan is doing this.

Its kind of like the Astros deal from a few years back (though not even close to being as bad) where it seems like coaches were warned about this type of activity and they were told to stop doing it

And there are two other teams being investigated in their own conference but nobody mentions them :) But there's plenty of outrage directed at Michigan. I'm not even a Michigan fan but I prefer them to Ohio St.

I hate them both, Michigan in fact borders on my level of hate like the 49ers.
That said, I totally agree its a little bit of a witch hunt and Harbaugh now gets to laugh last

This was reported to the NCAA by a Michigan insider. It’s not a witch hunt. Harbaugh has been a shady MFer since he’s been at Michigan. He knew all about the cheating. Fans were frustrated with his mediocre seasons and he was desperate.

College signs do not get changed every game. That would cause so much confusion on game day. The team would have to study and learn new signs every week? That’s very unrealistic.

The issue is recording games and then matching them to all 22 film. A booster paid for the tickets. Stalions used his military training to do the film study and match the signs with plays and the linebackers coach got caught trying to delete the evidence. Michigan has bragged about their integrity for decades. It will be interesting to see if they will retain their cheating coaching staff. I agree that it hurts the kids to keep them out of a bowl game but the coaches don’t deserve to be in one. They put their needs ahead of the players. They should have considered the consequences.

People continue to believe the Earth is flat despite there being factual evidence to the contrary.

The same is the case with this. People are going to believe whatever they want to regardless of it factual or not.

Incorrect.

NCAA was provided information from a law firm hired a Private Eye company owned by Ryan Days brother.

So you’re telling me Ohio State used the same signs this weekend as they did last weekend with Minnesota?

Penn State used the same signs the week before against Maryland before they played Michigan?

You and I both know they were changed and it’s not rocket science to change signs within a game plan week to week. This very normal to the late 90’s since I played college ball.

There’s a reason why cosches cover up their mouths on the sideline talking like John Gotti out on the street in the 90’s because people are constantly watching to try and get an edge.

Here’s Western Kentucky putting up a veil in 2019 to prevent sign stealing.

This is nothing new in college football by any means. Also, may I remind you that the NCAA investigation hasn’t been complete so NO ONE has all the facts at this point.

At this point, it is a witch hunt.

Teams don’t change songs every week. If they did then why would Stalions bother to find people to record the opponents signals? There would be no reason to.

College offenses can have 100 plays in the playbook. You don’t think that would be difficult to learn new signals for each week?

Some teams did change the signals this year and last when facing Michigan. But it was not easy and shouldn’t have been necessary.

Teams aren’t creating a new 100 plays every week, the signs are for the 100 plays are changed.

No they aren’t. This coach may have changed a few signs. If this was the case then Stalions doesn’t get hired. It would be a non issue that the Big Ten would have dismissed. Changing signs every week for all of their plays would be so confusing. It’s like learning a new language every week.

why was Belichick’s filming signs so effective? Josh McDaniel was 6-0 when he started out in Denver. Then the league discovered that he was doing the same thing. After that the Broncos weren’t very good.

Your article has no link. Let me guess - he was responding to a question about playing Clemson, which is known to be good at sign stealing. Notice that the guy given credit for the scheme, Brett Venables is gone and Clemson came back to earth as a middling college team.

Dude comparing Belicheat and college signal stealing is apples and oranges. McDaniels was 6-0 because it took a while just like a new player start out well ( Krapondick) and it takes a while to get tape to analyze and stop it.

I’m sorry but signals are changed often. If you know anything about modern college offense and how they the prepare every week ( they did that in my offense at NMSU back in 1998) You telling me they haven’t and don’t do that in the big programs now? :explode1:

Advanced sign stealing has been around in college for at least 2 decades and any of those perennial powerhouse teams unofficially have that.

Michigan beat a 10 and 2 ranked team without their head coach. They are just better talented team period and they only reason some on this board are off the chain about this is because the former 49ers coach is the coach of Michigan.
