I always look forward to your drafts because they are so well thought out. I saw you in your first draft was all over Gibbs and I get the dual threat Alvin Kamara logic but we have Zero OLBs, down our #1 star CB, our #2 and 4 cbs. Also the OL was a mess last year even without the injuries I fear we need upgrade help. I just don't understand how the front office could go for Gibbs when we already have Akers I know it's his last year I think but still with all the key areas that need addressing. I also don't see them going WR until late if at all unless maybe Robinson somehow gets dealt and my guess what people are willing to give us I'd too low similar to Akers last year.

On a side note I have advocated them taking a flyer on Murphy you never know.

Gibbs scares me, not a tough runner and wasn't the fastest either but is plenty fast just doesn't run well between the tackles, bottom 5% of RB's in the draft between the tackles after contact. We need a real RB that runs inside as well as outside. Gibbs could be a beast on the right team but I don't think it is us.
the rest is fine.
Nice work

Just last fall, the organization attempted to trade a buttload of picks for a similar RB in Christian Mccaffrey.

I went with beat writer Jourdan Rodrigue on this one. The team's goal is to fix the offense and to figure out what they have on the Oline since so many players were injured last year. BTW, while I believe he should be playing DE, I liked what I saw from Hoecht at EDGE last year. And Hardy seems to have some promise, too, IMO.

I am always a fan of your mocks @Memphis Ram and I applaud a realistic trade too as Akers for Matt Corral makes a ton of sense for multiple reasons. My concern is the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over & over again expecting different results. Will that be the Rams in 2023 with their Offensive Line if they only add one?

I'm looking forward to the draft and would like to share my opinion on what our future draft might look like. Of course, this is just my opinion, but I think we should focus on improving our defense. In the first round, I would pick a defensive midfielder to support our already strong defensive line. In the second choice, I would make an offensive end to improve our offensive options and provide new options for our quarterback. In the third round, I think we need to pay attention to the lineup. Some good options may be available at this stage of the draft, and that will give us an opportunity to improve our depth and reliability on the line. I would also look at the secondary defense and linebackers in the final rounds to solidify our defense and give us a wider choice of players at the positions. Overall, I think we can improve in many areas, but focusing on defense may give us the most success going forward. I look forward to the draft and hope that our team can find talented players to help us reach greater heights next season. Let's support our team and wish everyone the best of luck in the draft! Go Rams!

I see your point and I would expect that they sign some UDFAs or maybe even a veteran.

But, I also see what is said to be the Rams view on this, too.

Now if an OLineman were the BPA at any point in the draft, I'd hope they'd select them. But, they've got a new OLine Coach and they don't even know what they have in young guys like Bruss, Arcuri, & Thomas yet. Even Anchrum might even be pretty good with a legit shot under new eyes.

McCaffrey is a much better runner between the tackles and a much more effective college player. 3600 yds rushing in 2 years compared to 2000 in 3 years for Gibbs. RB's of Gibbs, Eckler and Mcaffrey's size Kamara is bigger have a very low success record and I just feel we have had bad enough luck at that position to take a high-risk high reward guy. If we draft him I would assume it is almost purely to add a hybrid Receiver/RB as opposed to an RB that can catch like Faulk, McCaffrey, Kamara

I could likely be wrong but giving up our top pick at RB with a laundry list of needs scares me. If we draft him he will be exciting to watch but we will still need an RB unless he develops his traditional between-the-tackles efficiency that is needed in the NFL
I get the intrigue

We will have to agree to disagree on this one. I think he's better in between the tackles than you do.

Either way, some kids are just special talents and the NFL game has changed.

This kid could be as good as Eckler, McCaffrey, Chris Johnson, Jamaal Charles, Charles Garner and other smaller backs, IMO.

BTW, McCaffrey had almost twice and many college carries and played in the Pac-12. He also enjoyed the use of a FB in a run first offense. Gibbs, at least, had 1 SEC year.

People dont realize how good Gibbs was on terrible Georgia Tech teams, leading rusher (among RB's) in his Freshman/Soph years
And when Young went down for Bama last year, he sure rose to the occasion, rushing for 360 yards in the 2 games Young was hurt and missed time

And some still see him as just a RB and not a weapon capable of making things easier for other players.

The problem w/ Bama players is their whole team is good. So are you looking at the indivual's talent..... Or the sum of all its parts? I like the idea of getting the Oline up to speed (either through the draft or just getting people back on the field....) and our backs will all look better.
Just my 2 cents......

Not this year. Besides, Gibbs played at Georgia Tech before he got to Alabama.

Georgia Tech is a run first, second, and third team and yet he got less carries then he did at Bama. I'm not trying to deny Gibbs is a talented back, but, for my money (its not) I'd rather have Achane in the 3rd then use 36 on Gibbs. This is provided they Rams are set on getting an offensive weapon of this mold. They are similar backs, both rely on blazing speed and both are undersized. They both can be featured in nearly the same way.
