His dead cap is 50M, so yeah he is playing.

Maybe. Maybe not. That's my point. We don't know. Outside of LaFleur's comment regarding being open to working with him again we got nothing.
Kourdan last year was scaring Rams Fans. The Truth is she had a point.I think Kupp helped ,but it was Mcvay that had to close the deal.
Mattew Stafford came close to ,or at the very least had The Rams F’d.
His contract was not guaranteed?? However that was Mcvay was worried after OTS’s & day before Training Camp there were issues.

IMO that’s what Sean Mcvay meant to knowing sooner than later.Going into 2025 Sean Mcvay is going to want to know 100%.

In fact it might be sooner than that ? He has Mike Lafleur & the coaching staff back. They don’t go to INDY just to get ahead on the playbook.Knowing who is going to be your QB, I WOULD think is important ?

Kelly & those rumors of his head issues from getting sacked so much(T y Bobby Evan’s) that he was going to retire. Then in 2023 he had a solid season.IMO just like this year, that season The Rams almost won it all ? When you come within a TD & the ball ?? -Look at Allen yesterday(loser).
I’d say The Rams have been in good hands with Mattew !

Mostly draft prep talk and "coach speak" with no real info just cookie crumbs.

Not an uncovered easter egg or anything, but he did make it clear that Stafford is under contract with the Rams for a couple more seasons, that point seems to get missed amongst some of these conversations. Snead almost had an edge when talking about it.
Stafford has built up a "Good guy" persona in LA, I dont see him wanting to trash that by holding out, demanding a trade etc.

No it’s A. I. -lol
Haha no I meant in what he said as Snead usually says a lot but gives away nothing.

Hear me put, Im just spit balling so don't shoot me just for saying it.....I wonder if the Rams are somewhat considering the possibility of trading Stafford if he wants too much money so they can have a shot at Arch Manning or some other QB from that draft class? Not saying they won't try to get a QB now or that they shouldn't do everything in their power to re-sign Stafford which is what myself and everyone here wants by the way.

Manning isn't until next year, and they're not trading him this year and rolling with a mid at QB this window open.

Trust me, I truly believe we'll find a way to sign Stafford. Just throwing the other shitty possibility out there on what the plan may be if it goes to shit. Tha free agency and trade market is shit this year for QBs. No real solid options at all from what I see.

This is shaping up to be one of those standoffs from the looks of it. Stafford saying he's still got it. McVay wanting clarity right now or soon. Stafford wants more guaranteed to keep playing for this team. Sneed saying they need a break before they start thinking about what this looks like, or something like that. I remember with the Gurley situation his cap hit didn't stop his release. Fact is nobody on this message board has a clue what will happen, but some sure think they do. :laugh2:

Adjusting for inflation, these numbers are nearly identical....
Better examples would have been Brandin Cooks (2020) and Goff (2021).

Both were over $20M in Dead-$ those seasons.

Personally, I don't think Stafford is going to be an issue or that his situation is going to be a big deal.

I think the post-season press conference comments of McVay and Snead have been blown-out-of-proportion.

I also believe the Rams and Stafford need and want each other; and will work-out something that makes Stafford happy, and reduces his current 2025 cap hit. Unfortunately, I am frequently wrong.

^^^This.

I also don’t see him moving his 4 little blondies and wife. But I think if he was going to, it would be to a contender. What contender or potential contender needs a QB? Of them, would he really want to move the family there?

It doesn’t seem he wants to retire, so…???
