The question is not SHOULD he stay.

The question is not whether you WANT him to stay.

The question is whether you think he WILL OR WON'T stay.

Do I hope beyond hope he will? Yes.

Do I think he will? Gun to my head...no.

He gone. The curse with people who are as obsessive as McVay and who run at 110% consistently is that it's hard to break that behavior and it can be detrimental if not addressed. I find it hard to believe McVay essentially changes who he is in these next few days.

Hasn't McVay's message been a mans true character shows when he faces adversity? I mean that kind of goes out the window if he quits in lieu of his first bad season...I think he stays and finishes out his contract.

Either way I hope for the best for him and his hot ass wife.

yes. Too many things are pressuring him to return. He pushed for the Stafford trade. He pushed AD to come back. He signed an extension. Hard to see him leaving all that, plus his first losing season. Better question, do you WANT a guy with admitted burnout running your team?

If McVay bails, are there any good 30 year old coaching prospects out there? Maybe even in the twenties wouldn't be too far of a reach.

No. But then again, he could take this offseason away from the team and come back right before training camp starts refreshed. Coupled with making some changes like delegating out OC responsibilities and bringing in someone as an advisor of sorts to help him load manage - someone with HC experience. It's all possible but I don't think McVay can come to terms with all this within the next couple of days. Like I said in my previous post, we're asking to be someone he's not in a short period of time. Not impossible but highly improbable.

Yeah idk. There doesn't seem to be a good fix. I like your idea though. Hire an OC who can call plays now and take over fully when Mvcay leaves.

Umm.... have you started counting the mail in ballots yet? Also I believe that there may possibly be a box or two of ballots under a table somewhere.
Just sayin'...

Didn't mean to be a debbie downer man. I'd love for him to come back, 100% committed to coaching out his contract and making some tough, much needed decisions to support the effort. But it seems less likely than him hanging it up for a bit.

Well,

4 months of life balance therapy would be "yes".
8 months would be "partly"
12 months would be "no".

I'm going to vote C, "maybe".

FWIW, James Hetfield took 5 months back in 2001, but that included substance rehab as well.
Edit: . . . and no one knew how long it would take until it was over.

I hope I am wrong, but I think he is gone. He will be back, though.
