Why? And why? We are fans, not duly elected judges.

Maybe we can do a "confirmation hearing" thread for those interested in seeing the big picture?

That game was like the games you gotta win in January in order to play in February, and I have no problem with it.

What is the single game rushing record, for the NFL, for the Rams?
For the NFL-Adrian Peterson with 296 vs. the Chargers 11-4-07.
For the Rams in the playoffs-Eric Dickerson with 248 vs. the Cowboys 1-4-86.
Regular season-Willie Ellison with 247 vs. the Saints 12-5-71.
Flipper Anderson has the single game receiving record for the NFL with 336 vs. the Saints 11-26-89.
I remember watching all 3 games but misremembered the Ellison game thinking 9'ers were the opponent.

See, I had the opposite reaction. I'd gladly donate your money to save 7-10 carries of wear and tear on Todd Gurley.

Remember when the rams game plan was
1st down run
2nd down run
3rd down pass
4th down punt

Wasn’t that long ago

Mcvay is going to call the play that he thinks will give the O a chance at succeeding .land while he is offense savant it’s not always going to work

Mcvays “shortcomings” are far outweighed by the positives and long may it continue if the first season and half is anything to go by

Were some of the passes simply because McVay was getting pass-looks from the defense?

The defense was adjusting to stop Gurley?

It could also lead to a dagger TD, since the D and everyone in the world knows they are running it (funny how that USED to be conservative and playing "not to lose") and make everything that Denver did after even more meaningless. Everyone would be singing in praise over how aggressive he is. But...hey....win is a win.

i think we could all see that the passing game just wasn't clicking like it normally would, for whatever reasons. gurley and brown were making good yards nearly every time they had a run. if his plan was to rest gurley, giving brown a few more runs would have steadied the ship and eaten up the clock. goff was completing just 50% of his attempts.

don't understand how making that observation is complaining?

I'm sure it was.
You attack the defense based on their look among other things.
People seem to base their opinion of the play calling on the result.
In my opinion the play calling was fine.

The tongue in cheek comment about the $$ aside, was there anybody who didn't see this game as a run dominated affair? The Rams were clearly up to the task.

Despite all the big names on this team, that OL is pretty damn good. Even if Gurley was winded, we have a backup who is also a good player.

Did anybody happen to notice McV on the sideline taking blame for that disastrous playcalling when the Rams turned the ball over deep in our own end of the field?

As much as I love the big time aerial assault of the Rams, when that OL comes to play like they did on Sunday, let them punish. That's really my point.
...of course had the Rams done this, I would t be scrounging around for cans and bottles!

two different opinions here if something is going good keep doing it until it is stopped or mix it up so it isn't stopped

Because it's a reactionary post. I don't care what Jared's percentage was. One pass makes the difference, and because it didn't work it's a bad sequence. I'm willing to bet that Sean McVay saw a matchup or look he liked and tried to exploit it. Didn't work. Worst case was getting 3 points. Moving on.

If you are going to blame anyone for the score being that close, blame the D for allowing Case to get chunks of yards in the final few minutes remaining. I'm considering that last TD they scored garbage time anyway. Many games have that kind of ending when the O is 10 points down and scores hoping for an onsides kick. Odds are very low for that to happen.

It was very bad in Denver I agree.
I don't believe it's by design however.
Saw some pretty bad non calls against the Chargers as well....two obvious false starts not
called, one leading to a TD.

That no call on the most obvious false start in the league so perplexed the Browns that they gave up a TD.
