I'll bookmark this post when someone here calls me a "stupid mother fucker."
You DO realize that it's a reference to a John Belushi comment from the movie Animal House?

DON'T YOU?!?

If Not ... well ... that may explain the "Stupid Mother-Fucker" opinions.

What just happened to this thread is the proudest moment I've had on this board.

Edit: And even better, I can only surmise that someone in a now deleted comment did NOT get the reference! Delicious!

Not a Simpson or McShay fan and stopped being a draft fan over a decade ago . . .

Anyhow, if I got this right, on this play we got Alabama's best receiver, Germie Bernard, projected as a RD1-2 pick, locked in press man coverage against safety Ashlynd Barker. He shows press man at pre-snap. This game is Barker's first start. He's 6'3" and not one of these quick, shifty safeties. The year before, on FSU's 2-10 team, Barker tallied a grand total of zero passes defensed.

McShay talks about Simpson's full-field progression, but I'm not sure how much reading he should be doing here. (I don't know.) From the safety of my comfy chair, this looks like it should be the football version of a gimme or a layup - no pass-coverage safety v. NFL caliber, #1 receiver.

McShay pulls one play out of a game where Simpson had a 53.5% completion rate and his team lost 31-17. I just don't know if that one play is actually representative of anything.

Regardless of the matchup it seems like Simpson read the play out mostlik ely as designed which did required him to get to the backside to hit Bernard. Think it's a nice play/throw if you are looking for reasons to like Simpson.

Not in love with Simpson myself.

Just my personal opinion but we don't need a drafted QB to win super bowl 61 at SoFi. We need a shut down corner. Yes, we need a capable backup just in case but I doubt a rookie will fit that role. Read that the Rams could pounce if the cheatriots can't extend Christian Gonzales. Dang, if he can shut down JSN, the shit hawks are toast. I saw other rumors about McDuffie from KC for #29.

To me, all in is trying to win the darn thing next season. I believe if the Rams can secure a shut down corner with one of the first rounders, then I'd be ok trading one of the first rounders for a 1st round pick next season. If not then draft another stud and let's go get it done. The window is wide open while Stafford is still wearing horns.

Where does the all in come from? Haven't heard McVay or Snead say that this year.

“There is a vision to have sustained success over time. There’s a balance there. But if Matthew decides to come back, I do think there will be an element where, okay, let’s–whether it’s 51/49 [percent], whether it’s 52/48, whether it’s 60/40–let’s definitely make the most of the time we have with Matthew,” Snead told reporters on February 4.

“The type of season he had, the type of season that he’s still showing that he can have, there’s only so many of those left. So, those are some moments that you want to take advantage of, for sure.”

He literally says in another interview "Lets make the most of our time with Matthew and when Matthew says enough is enough lets be prepared to transition from there"

So he says maximize his time but they have to be prepared to transition.
