“Uphill, both ways”

Is that where it ends? We had a similar one for Hwy 50 in Sacramento. Was a sign for Ocean City, NJI do not think I have ever been on this part of Hwy 20 (probably 'cuz I have always navigated to the OR coast from up north, near the Portland area). This sign is on the Oregon coast, near Newport.... Probably some sort of inside joke, since apparently there is similar sign in Boston indicating the destination is Newport.
You'd think to be any kind of useful, it might say "Bend, 172 miles". But, what do I know....

I'm not saying it's not possible that I missed it and my son also missed it but I was just in Newport on Sunday and don't recall it. I lived in a town 7 miles away from there from 2007 to 2017 and drove right by that building (Eagle's lodge) literally thousands of times. I don't recall ever seeing it and neither does my son. It would be pretty sad if it is actually there.I do not think I have ever been on this part of Hwy 20 (probably 'cuz I have always navigated to the OR coast from up north, near the Portland area).
