This shit happens here in FL every time a new storm is named. Each channel's local news programs get huge ratings if they hype up storms that could possibly hit us... the hype usually happens PRIOR to the storm getting close. It creates an almost panic mode with people (especially people who are new to FL). The grocery stores and hardware stores quickly sell out of supplies like you wouldn't believe. Many gas stations run out of fuel. These local channels get huge ratings increases and the news people are very aware of all this. People will literally watch the news 24/7 listening about a storm that never even hits FL. It's maddening. When I hear a news person calling for people to "hunker down" for a storm that is 800 miles out in the Atlantic... I want to knock a few of their teeth out.

This clown in your video is working for a ratings hike. This is sad... but these news stations make bank because of the fear they create.

Fear porn is everywhere about most everything. A sad sign of the times.

what i dislike is the new wave of attention getting that all the major channels do by saying "OVER 100 MILLION people are projected to be in the storm's path. because in the "old days" they'd be more considerate and skirt around the public a lot better than these rude storms nowadays.
