Calling it Picard atm cause it's not named yet that I know of. But looks like another CBS all access show that I'll have to find a way to watch.

The vineyard and talking about commanding the greatest comeback whatever whatever reminded me of Vermeil.

Dude that's my shit right there! I grew up watching the old ones as a boy but TNG was my shit! Still no other series that had it together like them! Can't fucking wait!

Yeah I am so happy for this. And I can’t believe it’s been 25 fucking years since I watched the STTNG finale “All Good Things...”. First show I remember being devestated that it was ending. Stayed up late in secret in my bedroom growing up and watching ST:TNG at 10:30 on channel 30 out of ST. Louis back when it was the fox station. I’m old and I hate it lol.

Rezzing this thread from it's necro state.

So two seasons have passed since this was originally created. They were hit and miss for me. I loved a lot about them but the writing was subpar at times and it was kind of a mess.

Having said that, I have high hopes for this last season.
Basically being touted as a 10 episode movie for the TNG cast now that they've dumped most of the characters from first two seasons. They said you don't even need to have watched the first two seasons to watch this one.

Saw the first episode last night and so far so good. I was pissed when the episode ended because I WANT MORE NOW lol.

I've always loved Riker so enjoying more of him so far. I am not a fan of them hinting at issues between him and Troi but will let that play out before making judgement. And Crusher now having another son. I'm sure there's some elaborate answer about how that's possible and no one else knowing about it but confused on the timeline there.

Some questions and theories of where this is going:
First off, I think Rafe's handler is Worf. That's based on piecing together trailers and other info we've been given leading up to show. Can't wait for that!

Crusher's son, is he Jack Crusher's kid? Sperm bank kid, clone, or whatever? I don't think he could be Picard's kid unless Beverly has been doing some shady shit behind his back lol. The actor, Ed Speelers (who I can only see as a rapist piece of shit from Outlander but I digress), is 34 so assuming they make him 30ish he'd have to have been born sometime towards the end of, or during, the ST:TNG tv run. Picard is set roughly 30 years after the final episode of ST:TNG... 20ish after the movies. Will they use season 2 where Gates McFadden left the show, ironically to have a kid and other reasons, as a piece of the puzzle? Canon was always that she taught at Starfleet Medical during that time but will a story be concocted from that part we know nothing about?

Some off the wall theories...
It's actually Thomas Riker pretending to be Will. Probably not but would be an easy "gotcha" moment at some point but they've already did that in ST:DS9 once with the fake sideburn reveal lol.

Starfleet did some kind of weird cloning or genetic creation using Beverly to create her new son and she found out about it 20 years ago so she rescued him and went on the run and cut off ties to TNG crew. Doesn't explain how she has a starfleet ship though. And why would they do that? Because Wesley was a traveler so they wanted to recreate someone with that ability who they control? Section 31? Is the kid some kind of cross between Crusher and Picard thus them fixing an injustice from the movies where all of his remaining blood relatives are killed in a fire so that he has a legacy to leave behind? Something he noted at beginning of episode that he didn't care about? Seems a bit too perfect to have it be related to him too... ie - Picard gets a son he never knew he had and it so happens to be with Crusher his long time crush... and they live happily ever after. Too perfect.

Anyway, I'm loving the mystery so far and where this is going. I hate having to wait another week to find out more clues. And I can't wait to see everyone!! The end credits break into old TNG music and I teared up a bit.

And this thread is still only on it's 1st page? I scrolled down to skip to the latest and there weren't any page links. :D
I thought it's been a decent ride—not the best, but still entertaining. At least I managed to finish the first 2 seasons. I couldn't stand the latest Discovery season for some reason. Couldn't even get past the first episode or two this time.

we're gonna watch episode one tonight , I think it just dropped in the last couple days

we tried watching season one and two , started both seasons , but finished neither

have heard nothing but good things about season three though, so have been loooking forward to it

I'm guessing episode one will be a , we're putting the band back together episode

we watch it on Paramount Plus along with Strange New Worlds , Lower Decks and Prodigy , We loved season one of Strange New Worlds and can't wait for season two

Lower Decks and Prodigy are animated series , and actually pretty good , we stoped watching Discovery after season one

kind of a bummer about Picard season three being the final season , just as it's getting good

Yeah we've struggled to stay with Discovery. I'll probably watch it all at some point but wife has given up on it.

We do LOVE Strange New Worlds though and Lower Decks. Have not tried Prodigy yet but I've heard good things. SNW has been my favorite show overall of the last couple of years.

Yes, SNW has been the best of this new batch for me. Have not tried the animated ones, but I've seen previews etc.

I've enjoyed most all the new Star Trek shows. There was one season of Discovery that was a bit slow to me but still had some very good episodes. I do however love Strange New Worlds. The story the cast and everything about it so far has been exceptional.

well , the first episode

wasn't quite the "putting the band back together" episode I thought it would be as most of the TNG cast hasn't shown up yet , I guess we'll save that for episode two

there was one MAJOR plot point in this episode I had to just roll my eyes and go with it , it is Star Trek after all..........................LOL

a show based on sending the Captain , the First Officer , the Science Officer , Chief Medical Officer and Chief Enginer all down to and unknkown plants together , at the same time , with little to no security

so

sometimes there stuff that happens in Star Trek , we just sorta have to go with it..............................LOL

but I enjoyed episode one

I think the Captain of the USS Titan is going to be a fun character

can't wait to get the band back together

here's my one prediction , and thats all it is as I've avoided all spoilers

we know this will be the last episode of Picard

but.............

the series will spin off into a new show where number 7 will become the new captain of the USS Titan

assuming she doesn't get killed or the USS Titan gets blow up

Yeah, I am a kid in a candy shop watching this show and episode 3 was a roller coaster of fun. Wow. Every week is a 7 day tease waiting for more!

Some random comments so far:

Riker and Worf are stealing the show so far. Michael Dorn so effortlessly fell right back into Worf it's amazing. "Beheadings are on Wednesday!" and then his whole introduction mentioning his adoptive parents and slayer of Gowron... then asking if she wants sugar in her tea lol. Love it.

That 17 seconds from Riker's conversation in the flashback translating to Picard taking the elevator thinking about how, in the very short time he's known Jack, he's already squandered too much time with him. I have a loved one who is on borrowed time at this point in their life and that scene really hit me hard. Picard and Crusher scenes are all so perfect so far.

Changelings!!!!! OMG I love they brought them back into the universe. Worf mentioning Odo indirectly too! I'm still not sure how Vadic is connected and why is Jack or Picard a big deal to them since he had nothing to do with the Dominion War? Is Vadic a changeling or just a pawn of theirs? Why does her crew wear those masks and stuff? Some kind of gas mask that controls them like they did with Jem'Hadar and ketracel-white? Vadic's ship kind of has a bit of Bajoran vibe to it to me... if you look at it top down slightly resembles the symbol of Bajor... probably reaching there.

It's a god damn shame René Auberjonois died because I would love to have him back.

Some characters I hope show up before the end of the season... Miles Edward O'Brien please (would be the perfect person to bring back with ties to both TNG and DS9), Barclay, anyone from ds9 or voyager.

I've really enjoyed the series so far but these first couple episodes this season have been great! So this thought though has come to me after last night.

my only real issue with season 3 is that brough back Michelle Hurd as Raffi

I didn't like her in season 1 or 2 , and I don't like her anymore her in season 3

every time they cut away to her little side quest , I would just cringe

Michael Dorn showing up as Wolf , might help

Star Trek Discovery has been canceled , with season 5 being it's last , I'm surprised it lasted that long

but two new shows are suppose to be on their way , in some form of development

Starfleet Academy and Section 31

not counting Strange New Worlds , Lower Decks and Prodigy will all be back as well

and I'm still expecting Star Trek Picard will spin off into a new series as well , with Number 7 the new Captain of the USS Titan , but thats just me predicting

But Paramount , along with about every other streaming service's are having major budget cuts , so , we'll see which shows survive

I disagree she's great at playing this troubled and vulnerable character and her along with Dorn is a great paring. Wouldn't surprise me if they got their own spinoff show.
