Potentially, but Williams has had the most proven success among all the corners on our roster. I think Williams vs. Witherspoon is one of the most intriguing battles of camp. I don't think either of them plays the slot. So if Forbes has arrived at one outside spot, those two have a lot less value. (other than depth of course).
Williams is the only real veteran, but he had a really bad stretch last year. Did not play well at all. Last year Our 2 best CBs were Durant and Akeahlo. In fact Akeahlo could argue he's been our best CBA for the last 2 years.

Based just on current playing level, Williams could be the odd man out. He makes way too much to be our 4th CB

At the end of last year Demarco was praising DWill. He claimed he’s always at the right spots at the right time.

I would love to see Forbes step up. But this is a corner going into year three. How many corners "arrive" in year three and play at a high level. I am sure it has happened, however this is probably highly unlikely. Much more likely is he gives us a good coverage option for dangerous (speed) draws, and we just live with his shitty tackling.

Durant is similar. Another dude who has the coverage skills, but in today's NFL with WCO proliferation in just about every single offense and bullshit underneath passes all over the joint both these guys are going to get beat to hell.

Key to our secondary is our pass rush. Period. For this year. For beyond hopefully the Rams invest in a top corner prospect, but that might have to take a back seat yet again due to Jackson and his blood clots, or Stafford and the continued unhappiness with his contract.

Rams this year feel like a darkhorse to me. They're no longer a top end contender because LT is questionable at best, they always come out of the gate slow, and with Stafford getting blown up from the blindside they aren't going to be able to string enough wins together to be more than a wildcard round playoff team. And that's a tough road when your QB is getting beat to hell in the playoffs.
Solid points.

I'd say Forbes is in a different situation because it was strictly a scheme fit. He actually played well as a rookie. The new system for him in year 2 is what got him out of favor.

As you said its rare for a CB to arrive in year three... but scheme, culture and individual hustle can go a long way

Forbes was rated as one of the better CBs in his draft, and hes shown good coverage and ball skills already. If this extra weight has gotten him stronger, he could be a starter

Yes and this is why I suspect he'll be the same old player vs the run. He can cover. Where he will be attacked is with a steady diet of underneath shit and wear him down.

Or not, if he can improve and hold up vs the run. But to me stopping the run out there is all about attitude and willingness to get after it. Sort of like pass blocking for backs. Without that no corner is going to really change his stripes fundamentally speaking.

Anyway we'll see. Goal isn't to talk shit about the dude. In a way I'm trying to keep myself from buying the hype because I am very hopeful with him.

He improved later in the year, but there was a stretch where he was getting scorched.

Last years PFF Ratings for us:

Witherspoon 61.7

Durant 63.7

Williams 60.0

Improved pass rush will help the CBs with opposing QBs being under pressure more often. Also, improvement in the middle of the DL with Ford at nose and better MLBer play will result in the CBs not being needed as much in run support. Landman and Ford were key offseason additions.

4) Konata Mumpfield impressing. While most of the attention has been on Nacua, Adams, Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington so far, rookie Mumpfield was a standout on Saturday with the movement and separation skills he displayed. His best catch of the day was on a short pass near the sideline from Bennett in tight coverage during team drills.

Maybe another late round WR find?
I loved loved loved this guys highlights, just exceptional route running already

Re-read this 3 times times and I'm still fucking confused. At least your posts as every bit entertaining as they are confusing, lol.
Well basically The Rams are in a good spot entering 2025.Shelton has been that guy who helped continue Sullivans legacy.
Big Rob has been that leader on the O’Line since Whitworth left.Still Whitworth is every part of The Rams since he signed as a FA.

Having Ahkello getting his first OTA in as The Rams CB has been excellent. He hurt his calf, but that just gives other players more opportunities to improve. With Whiterspoon he just needs to stay mentally focused right now.

The RB’s are a deep group.Kyren Williams is a stud, but imo should sign a team(player) friendly 3 year contract. He’s still young & should be able to get another contract after that with less miles.

Last time Stafford went into training camp with an injury was the disastrous 2022 season. I’m not sure how Brady was ever lucky enough to play 22 years with basically no injuries. But not everybody is Satan himself I suppose.
Honestly, I saw Brady take a dive MANY times to avoid a hit. And nobody ever called him a pussy for that.

Jim Everett did that once and it somehow, unfairly, defined his career in the eyes of many.
