Forbes would be ideal outside for us if he's grown into that potential.

He's honestly putting Williams on the bubble

He certainly has the physical capacity to do it.....but, the mental side is huge.
Mcvay & The Rams learned there lesson last year. Now it’s all about praise with The long term Rams who should have been signed at the end of 2024.

The 2 BIG ones were Ahkello & Shelton. Ahkello was a MAIN reason The Rams made the playoffs. Both there replacements got traded, but when your talking mental & team players ? Those imo a GREAT RAMS,meaning what Mcvay has towards his original (oh) pyramid.

My examples go back to players who have been mentored & continue to mentor traditionaly.

I saw the Whitworth & Sullivan come in & help. Change the culture.Such as Bobby Trees.

During training camps even in the Fisher Days you see the relationships in each group.

In my head I have seen these developments.I say in a crazy way better than Mcvay himself.(we’ll see).He gets it now more than ever & it’s his growth & reflection that gets it better than ever.

I’d say a great coach(s)who gets it as Chris Shula(Z.Kromer) and his group.

I’ll say there is a way it has hurt as well.My example is Joesph Noteboom. He fooled Big Whit & Kromer. Austin Blythe was a CORE RAM.Shelton keeps that Tree a live if John Sullivan.Which now brings in back better than ever for a player like Beaux Limmer.Mcvay sort of said half as much about what Shelton means to have back & that he wants(wishes) Limmer will be a Rams for a long time.It shows all that John Sullivan brought to The Rams.Big Whit called Mcvay out & it actually cost The Rams a SUPERBOWL run in 2019. The cutting of John Sullivan & in a way The Drafting of Brian Allen hurt.

To clarify though about Austin Blythe, just like Coleman Shelton. They were The PERFECT swing G/C. I’d say more C/G.My point was that they shouldn’t be playing guard for long.FREAKING Blythe & what The Rams asked him to do. Then having Shelton playing guard as well. Then you know your in trouble for more than a game(couple) ‘s or SO.

I can go deeper than that as well,SO of course on just this thought. Austin Blythe did go to KC & help mentor Creed Humpries. Then go to the Hags for exRams(coach TE) OC there & started at center before retiring.
Coleman Shelton is back after starting & playing every down in Chicago.(funny) and Rams ex coach.

Just an example of my craziness.,but ask The Rams about Ron Gould & what a FREAKING GOOD COACH he is. IMO way better than this guy.The Rams are blessed & Mcvay continues to make such excellent connections.

The real test for Forbes is when the pads come on. His build does him no favors there but hopefully that extra weight and strength gains are enough.
Especially since his blazing speed and ability to attack the ball are his bread and butter. If he weighs up to 180 pounds, then that should be enough to prevent being rag-dolled by most receivers.

Potentially, but Williams has had the most proven success among all the corners on our roster. I think Williams vs. Witherspoon is one of the most intriguing battles of camp. I don't think either of them plays the slot. So if Forbes has arrived at one outside spot, those two have a lot less value. (other than depth of course).

That would be called OPI -- hopefully, lol. He still looks alarmingly slight. But if he can get strong enough - not everyone who looks slight is weak - he could do fine in the physical aspect of an NFL DB's game. Which would allow his ball skills to flash.

See we agree, it was a shit throw lol. I definitely didn't say anything about the QB not throwing it as I get letting it rip in camp. Think there's alway INTs thrown way more in camp. I'd give more credit to the rush than the CB on this play though. Hopefully the pass rush continues this type of play throughout the season to make things easier for our secondary.

Re-read this 3 times times and I'm still fucking confused. At least your posts as every bit entertaining as they are confusing, lol.

Pretty sad that Dresser Winn has been on the team for a couple of weeks and training camp has started and he is still not listed on the Website.

I hope you are right. It would be such a boost to get him to step up.
Yeah, I think about Nate Wiggins. I'm a big fan of his, and him being 6'2 only 175 pounds never scared me away lol especially if we play a lot of zone. I'm hopeful.

I would love to see Forbes step up. But this is a corner going into year three. How many corners "arrive" in year three and play at a high level. I am sure it has happened, however this is probably highly unlikely. Much more likely is he gives us a good coverage option for dangerous (speed) draws, and we just live with his shitty tackling.

Durant is similar. Another dude who has the coverage skills, but in today's NFL with WCO proliferation in just about every single offense and bullshit underneath passes all over the joint both these guys are going to get beat to hell.

Key to our secondary is our pass rush. Period. For this year. For beyond hopefully the Rams invest in a top corner prospect, but that might have to take a back seat yet again due to Jackson and his blood clots, or Stafford and the continued unhappiness with his contract.

Rams this year feel like a darkhorse to me. They're no longer a top end contender because LT is questionable at best, they always come out of the gate slow, and with Stafford getting blown up from the blindside they aren't going to be able to string enough wins together to be more than a wildcard round playoff team. And that's a tough road when your QB is getting beat to hell in the playoffs.

Sure there are examples like Ike Taylor, Sheldon Brown, Deshea Townsend just to name a few, but like you say, highly unlikely. Of course there is another factor when it comes to Forbes. 2 years, 2 different HC (Rivera, Quinn), 2 different DCs (DelRio; Joe Witt, Jr.), 2 different DB coaches (Brent Vieselmeyer; Tom Donatell) and finally at the end of year 2 and for year 3, a more stable environment in L.A.. Should we bank on it? Probably not. Should we discount it and expect it to be same as it ever was? Probably not.

Actually, when you factor in his time with the Rams, it's three different Head Coaches, Defensive Coordinators and DB-coaches in two years.
