I guess we’re going to see how the Skubal era in Dodger blue begins tonight.

I don’t have anything to do with the monies that Bankruptcy courts in essence awarded the Dodgers or what the MLB allowed to happen in that case. None of us do nor can we do anything about a case from 2013 I believe it was.

As I’ve always said, I’m a Dodger fan and a baseball fan in general and just want my team to win without cheating.

I think it’s kind of interesting in that 4 teams were apparently in the running for Ohtani and several - including those teams - were after Yamamoto. So what happens if say Toronto got Ohtani and Yams? Wouldn’t their payroll be far at the top?

Other teams have showed they can compete. And yes, the Dodgers do enjoy a substantial advantage when it comes to the ability to spend AND hold onto a huge windfall. MLB has a lot to figure out. In the meantime though, I’m a Dodger fan and that’s not going to change. I hope for baseball that the MLB gets their shit together.

We are on the verge of being able to do something historic and I’m here for it. But they still have to win it and that’s no simple feat.

All that said… GO DODGERS!!!

Looks like the Dodgers are about to lose their 6th straight. The pitching is the main culprit. Over 40 runs given up in the 6 games. Swept by Boston and the Cubs. Offense struggling the last couple games too. Dog days of August I suppose.

I do remember August being a tough month for them in past seasons. I think a few years ago they had two 8 game losing streaks in the month of August. And still won the division. I won't panic unless AZ or SD get within 3 or 4 games over the next couple weeks. Right now they both gained about 5 games on the Dodgers since they Dodgers were up 14 or 15 games. AZ 9 games back. SD 10 games back. Things can change in a hurry.

Tucker is really losing games for the Dodgers.

He's not driving in many runs and his defense is just atrocious. I thought Teo's defense was bad.

They can make it irrelevant this weekend. A sweep vs Arizona would do wonders.

Dude never impressed me. He took advantage of that band box in Houston....hitters park, smaller outfield. The last 2 years outside of Houston he was below average.

I’ve been saying that for months. He’s a liability in right field and it appears he just doesn’t give a damn.

Sometimes when the Dodgers go through stretches like this I start to wonder why they're still favored. I had my doubts last year when several teams had better records and they had to play more on the road. So I'll be a little more patient. Sooner or later they gotta break out of it.

It’s what I always hope for honestly. Dodgers v Yankme WS just says baseball to me.
Dodgers Vs Yankees is the greatest post season rivalry in Baseball.
Both teams are MLB Royalty.

I’m not a fan either.
He really pissed me off last week, when he stopped at 3rd when he was being waved home.

We should leave him in Chicago.

Fair enough. Won't talk about cap discussions more.

I will say this: the Dodgers still have a couple of recent losing series to us in the playoffs. Can't wait to continue it when we get better. :P
Ouch.
Yeah, the blue font isn’t even necessary.
The Cardinals ruined more than a few evenings during those playoff seasons.

To be fair, we are pretty beat up right now.

Just doing some light teasing, hence the blue font. Don't see the point in being an asshole, but light friendly ribbing? Almost impossible to resist.

Plus y'all are going to the playoffs this year, and we likely aren't, so you don't have to worry about us ruining some more evenings this year, at least. :laugh1:

51 percent sweetheart. 49 percent bitch. Don't push it!

I think I'd switch it to 80% snarky bitch, 15% really bitchy bitch, 5% sweetheart.

Just saaaying. :P

Whispers .... She's just a bitch

Hides from all the dirty looks he gets,

Memento - you know I love ya.

No dirty looks from me! Thank you for the love, though! :D

I'm perfectly capable of being an asshole! I just don't feel like being an asshole to other fans in a thread about their team just because the team isn't as great as the Cardinals. ;)

So far, the two big offseason signing have, well, lets say been disappointing. Very disappointing. D-Backs are now 7.5 games back. A sweep and they could get within 5.5 games. Have to say I did not see this coming when the Dodgers had a 14 game lead. Diaz gave up a walk HR off to a guy who only had one homerun entering the game.

All they gotta do is get back on track. Question is, when will they? I have to wonder if fatigue has set in. They've been playing a lot more than anyone else the last couple years going all the way to the World Series twice. Last one was a hard fought 7 games.

I don't think fatigue has set in , I think BOREDOM has set in. The Dodgers, having won the last 2 World Series are just waiting around for the Playoffs to start. Whats dangerous is they've started their wait-around boredom way too soon, unlike the 2-time Defending Champion 2000 New York Yankees who sleptwalk through September, finished with UNDER 90 wins, then turned it on in October for a 3rd Straight Title.
