Alright. @Rams8821 and @PARAM let’s get away from personal shit. Param is right in that this is a Rams board with a Dodgers thread. I have posted and given him shit over on the Yankme thread. This thread is fair game as well.

Also, I do find it pretty hilarious this dick measuring competition. “Mine is bigger”. “Oh yeah? Well who have you fucked with it lately?”

Anyway, carry on but stop attacking each other. Of course saying the Yankmes suck is still very much allowed.

Once we get the trolls outta here let's get back to talkin Dodger baseball!!!

Looking forward to see Skubal!

Tucker 2 hits last night. I dont blame him going for 2. Suzuki made a great play.

Not true. Bad ownership virtually destroyed the Dodgers system. That was one of the things that this ownership vowed to correct.

And even though the Dodgers and their fans do enjoy advantages, the fact is that other teams have spent and will spend with lower success rates. The Dodger advantage is a fact. Now you can either stick it in your pocket or do everything in your power to win. They choose the latter.

I have nothing against you or your team. I refer to them as the Evil Empire because of the Steinbrenner years. But it’s in jest. One of my best friends is a Yankme fan - tattoo and all. He grew up in NY. It’s all cool.

I just get bored and a bit annoyed with all the Dodgers are ruining baseball talk. It’s pretty lame. I’m not saying that’s you. But I mostly hear it from either SF fans or fans of teams that constantly undermine their own chances at success.

The Dodgers aren't ruining baseball, and as I've said, I don't hate Dodgers fans nearly as much as Giants and (especially, absolutely especially, second only to the Asteriks in the AL West in my hatred for non-division teams and their fans) D-Backs fans - and even more so the media talking heads/shock jocks - as far as the NL West...but you have to admit that there needs to be a cap ceiling and floor, Stu. I say that for my team as well; there has to be a limit to how low you can go just as much as a limit to how high.

So long as the "haves" (including Blue Jays, Yankees, Phillies, Mets, etc. in that category, not just Dodgers) spend an exorbitant amount of money that the "have-nots" can't even come close to paying, even if they emptied all of their pockets trying to pay for them.

So long as the bottom feeders are content with low salaries and selling every good young player to the top dogs before they even become free agents, all for more magic beans that either don't pan out or restart the cycle all over again.

So long as players decide that making their high-priced salaries matters more than the other 99% of the players who can't even reach the top 1% if they combined all of their salaries for all of the years they have in their contracts.

All of that means that there's going to be a long lockout. And it's going to kill baseball as we know it.

I’ve never said there shouldn’t be some sort of cap and floor. I’ll let them figure it out. I don’t get into NFL cap discussions and I won’t likely engage in MLB cap discussions. Cheers

Fair enough. Won't talk about cap discussions more.

I will say this: the Dodgers still have a couple of recent losing series to us in the playoffs. Can't wait to continue it when we get better. :P

Haters gonna hate. And let's face it, there's no easier target than a frontrunner. I simply enjoy the banter. FWIW, I rooted for LA in 1988 because I couldn't stand the Bash Brothers. I rooted for LA when they played Houston. And the following year when they played Boston.
It’s what I always hope for honestly. Dodgers v Yankme WS just says baseball to me.
I as well. I'm a traditionalist. I prefer the original 16 over any of the 14 expansion teams. Loved it when Cubs and White Sox won it. Couldn't stand the Schilling/Randy D backs. Or the Angels.....that 'other' LA team but it was impossible to root for Bonds and the Giants. Admittedly, I'm a weird fuck!!!

For my tastes, Tucker has a long ways to go. Fair or not, he came in smelling of trash can and needs to get that stench off. So far, IMO, he has done the exact opposite. He looks disinterested and lazy. And THAT is not this team. I’ll admit that I didn’t like us bringing him in to begin with but he has only reinforced that feeling. I’ll give him his due when he earns it. But a game here and there while exerting minimum effort isn’t going to get me there.

BTW, did you watch that weird as fuck game last night? The Cardinals go up 6-0 vs Schlittler, our best starter. The Yankees score the next 7 runs, with the last two coming on a homer by the newly acquired Garcia. It was shaping up to be one helluva debute for him. Then the Cardinal absolutely assault Chivilli. Weird game.

Thats fair. Just hang with him, hes gonna have some big moments for us.

LMAO. If they don't have the highest salaries, how did they get to #2 in payroll? They're paying a .240 hitter with 9 homers 57 million dollars. They're paying a .226 hitter with 13 homers, 30 million. That's 87 mil for .233 and 22 homers. There aren't many teams (any?) in MLB who can afford that.
I meant to say they have high salaries along with other teams.

They aren't the highest but they are the second highest but other teams are not that far behind.

You can hate all those teams as well including the Yankees.

I also want to add they are paying a shit lower of money for two pitchers who have pitched very few games.

But our minor league players have mostly come thru.

Wow! Struck a nerve? Something wrong with an honest discussion? I put up with the same complaints about the Yankees for 35 years or more (some from Dodger fans) and I didn't tell people to stop posting. You can't handle it for 2 years? Here's an idea. Don't respond if you can't handle it. Keep your head in the sand. Yes, the Dodgers are awesome. They don't have an unfair advantage. They're just so much better than the other 29 franchises. :bigcry:Wow, 9 Championships? You guys are awesome!!!!!

That last thing Dodgers fans are interested in is an honest discussion.

Not sure his owner is cheap. They have the 5th highest payroll behind the Mets, Dodgers, Yankees and Phillies. So it doesn't sound like a cheap owner is the reason they're in last place. Sounds more like lousy scouting and coaching. After what the Dodgers did to them last year and how this season's turning out, I can understand him being salty.

Funny thing is I haven't even mentioned payroll. I've only talked about the advantages the Dodgers have that literally every other team in the league do not. Those advantages completely invalidate the strident screeches of "EVERYONE ELSE CAN DO IT TOO, REEEEEEEE" but again, Dodgers fans are right up there with Cowboys, 49ers, and Maple Leaf fans when it comes to delusion and dishonesty.

You mean barely winning a World Series they opened at -210 favourites to win while boards like this were squealing about how the Dodgers would sweep them? Yeah, they sure showed the Blue Jays who was boss having to go to the 9th inning in the seventh game of a World Series they were the biggest favourites of the last 20 years to win.

Dude, it's getting tired, even for me. Go eat a Snickers; you get personal when you're hungry.

Who got personal in this thread first? Sure wasn't me.

EDIT: I just finished a nice plate of completely from scratch spaghetti and chicken, it was lovely.

Please don't play innocent. It takes two to tango. You've been getting personal in this thread ever since your team lost.

It's getting tiresome (and especially rich coming from fan of a team that spent $500 million on Vladimir Guerrero Jr., $250 million on Dylan Cease, $150 million on George Springer, and wiping $131 million with your ass with Jose Berrios), and I'm not even a Dodgers fan, or a fan of a rich team, for that matter.

Again, didn't mention payroll at all. I know what the Blue Jays spend.

I just looked back. I've made 10 (now 11) posts in this thread, and unless you consider "fuck the Dodgers" personal, then no, I most assuredly was not the first to get personal.

You're complaining about the Dodgers being rich when your own team is rich. You're complaining about the World Series, which is over, and makes your posts seem very bitter. And your posts are in their own thread. Multiple times as a criticism. Saying negative shit about this team - again, in their own dedicated thread - about the team. That's the very definition of personal. I don't know if you're holding a grudge, but saying "fuck the Dodgers", especially in the way you did, starting the whole controversy in a thread about the Dodgers and not letting it go, even when asked by moderators? Yes, that is definitely personal.

Yes, the deal they had plays a huge part, but they also draft and develop their prospects well, make smart, savvy trades (not just the Skubal trade and stuff like that, but prospect and player trades for prospects and players: Miguel Rojas, Tommy Edman, and Michael Kopech being prime examples), and have a huge presence on the international front. You may not like how they spend lots of money, I'm not happy either, but it's not like they're "buying" their championships.

But yeah, seeing the fans of two rich clubs who both spend a lot of money on their players - and I'd be saying the same thing for the fans of other rich teams - argue about who is richer and "buys" more series, to me, as a small market team fan, makes me roll my fucking eyes.

Yes, you're getting personal, yes, it's getting tiresome, no, I'm not a Dodgers fan or a Blue Jays hater, no, I don't have any love lost for the Dodgers, and yes, I am a Cardinals fan who does come into the thread, but mostly to do a light teasing, not get personal like you have.

*sigh* I didn't complain the Dodgers were rich. The issue is their shielded money that literally the rest of the league is not allowed to do. Haven't complained about the Dodgers payroll at all. Not once.

I also didn't bring up the World Series first either. It was brought up as yet another koala-brained attempt at a gotcha.

And any person who thinks "fuck (insert sports team) here" is a personal attack I'd say sports isn't for them.

I'll just say what I said that touched off this firestorm of actual personal attacks aimed at me. "Looking forward to the lockout."
