So if we move on I'm assuming we want Seattle to win? We'd have home field advantage if they do. Although winning on the road seems to take the wind out of an opponent's sails.

Yes. We'll have home field advantage if Seattle wins. I’m good either way. I think we can handle either team if our pitching continues to shine.

A commanding 3-0 lead. The pitching has been dominant. Even the bullpen was good today. Vesia, Treinen and Banda did their jobs. Held it down for Sasaki to finish it. If the Dodgers can sweep they'll be able to set up their rotation nicely. Start a series with Snell, Yamamoto, Glasnow and Ohtani. Most teams have one solid ace. Some might have two. Dodgers have 4.

And he 100% deserves to win, but ya know what, hes rather win ANOTHER WS ring.....

Cardinals fan saying that it would be utter bullshit if Mookie won. It's not that he wasn't great and deserving of one, he is, but Masyn Winn trumps him - and literally every other shortstop not named Bobby Witt Jr., who is in an entirely different league - in every defensive stat that can be recorded.

Give you a break for saying the thing that's backed up by literally every defensive stat? Rooting for whomever comes out in the AL. I can't in good conscience cheer for Milwaukee, so you can go to the WS...and you can lose there, for all I care.

Cardinals fan saying Cardinals player should win it. Got it.

Seriously? Mookie has done everything, including coming on at the end with his bat - that no SS really does - after being a gold glove worthy outfielder for years. Mookie is WELL deserving of it.

Exactly.....

Check.out that play Betts made in the 9th unreal....

Cardinals fan saying Winn should win the Gold Glove based on every stat. How about leading Outs Above Average in the NL? UZR in the NL? Winn leads that, too. Most chances at shortstop with the fewest amount of errors since Ozzie fucking Smith period in either league? Yeah, that's not Mookie Betts. Masyn Winn has been making incredible plays that most players don't even get to, let alone make a play on it. Look at any of his highlights.

Again, I am not saying Mookie doesn't deserve accolades as a Gold Glove finalist, but if Winn hadn't had surgery on his meniscus in late August, we'd be arguing about him as a Platinum Glove award winner instead of Pete Crow-Armstrong. That's how good he was defensively this year, and he more than deserves the win at shortstop.

And before you call me biased, Snack, Victor Scott II is up for the Gold Glove in center field. Pete Crow-Armstrong of the Cubs leads every outfielder in defensive ratings, so he should win it. I'm saying that a Cubs - my team's most notable rival - should win not only the Gold Glove for center field - no matter how good VS2 has been - as well as the Platinum Glove for the NL.

Don't bring "bias" and shit like that into this conversation; it won't work, and you know me better than that. I go off of who is most deserving. My team has sucked for the past three years, and they don't deserve any accolades...except for Winn, who was genuinely a diamond in the field, again, making plays that the vast majority of shortstops never even attempt to make (aside from diving on the ground in a futile attempt to get to the ball, looking silly in the process) and not only getting to those attempts, but making the plays with his laser cannon of an arm and not being wild in the process or throwing the ball away.

I look at awards based on merit, not team - so don't you dare accuse me of just rooting for my team.

Already answered that. I'm not saying Betts is not deserving of being a finalist, but have you watched Masyn Winn? Have you even looked at his stats? His defensive stats are such that they haven't been surpassed in a single season since The Wizard of Oz was playing.

I'm sorry if I sound pissy; I've had a shitty day. But I bet not one of you has watched Masyn Winn, and it feels like you're dismissing his case to prop up your guy. Which I understand, but I would definitely correct while also stating that I want the best to win, not just "the player with the best offense to go along with good defense" like it's been in the past, which would be an utter bullshit way to do defensive awards.

You’re right. I haven’t watched him at all. But I see what Mookie has done as pretty much a lifer in the outfield and then to switch to SS and battle through with one of the lowest error rates in the league as well as coming on with his bat along with continuing his stellar play at the hardest position. Yeah. I go with Mookie.

There’s been ZERO pressure on your boy Masyn. Tons of pressure on Mookie. And he continues to produce in the most clutch situations.

BTW. What stat has he beat Mookie in? Most double plays? One less error in a partial season? Less in BA even though Mookie had his lowest in converting to SS? Less than half the HRs?

Come on man. If you were going to build a team today for one season, would you take your guy or Mookie?

Your guy has a great potential. But better than Mookie? Yeah - no.

Outs above average and Ultimate Zone Rating. Fielding percentage. Less errors with by far the most chances.

The Gold Glove should be about the best defensive players, not the best hitters who play defense. Period.

I'm not saying Masyn Winn is a better hitter or player, but that's not what the Gold Glove should be about. That's my argument.

Would a sweep be good? World Series starts one week from today. A sweep gives them a whole week to prepare. But does a week off make you lose that edge? On one hand the starting rotation would be set up nicely. On the other hand the momentum could change with a week off. I have a feeling the other series is gonna go the distance.

Lets just win tonight and they will figure it out.....

Bounce back win for Seattle. But the Blue Jays just got back their homefield advantage. Still want the Mariners to win assuming the Dodgers take care of business.
