So it starts tomorrow. Well, we started last week. But the rest of the league starts tomorrow. Looks like it will be Snell, Yoshi and Roki for the 3 game series against Detroit. Snell will go against Skubal who is a very good pitcher. I have no doubt by season's end Snell will be one of the better pitchers in the league. But he does tend to start slow early in the season. Excited that the season is finally here. :part:

A good friend of mine (Detroit native) was really upset that they have to open the season by traveling to LA. I have to say that it does seem odd to start the season with interleague play.

Detroit has a lot of young talent. It should be an interesting series.

Now let’s sweep those bastards.

Detroit's definitely not a pushover. They made the playoffs last year. A Cy Young Pitcher first game. Good young roster. A sweep might be asking too much. A good season is consistently winning two out of three.

Nope - I want a 75% winning percentage to kick the Mariners record in the ass.

Who the heck is Jack Dreyer? I see he has some decent stats in the minors but is he really ready for the majors?

Man, I saw it was 5-3 Detroit in the 10th inning. I figured the Dodgers had their first loss and went to sleep. Checked this morning and find out Mookie Betts hits a 3 run walk off homer. His second homer of the night. Roki's on the mound tonight. I didn't get a chance to see him in Japan. Curios to see what kind of stuff he has.

I was watching Roki in Japan. He was a little wild not finding the strike zone and only lasted 3 innings. I think he'll come around and will be watching him tonight. Detroit seems like they have a lot of good hitters and Dodger pitchers have been getting in some trouble this series and LA's been fortunate to come out with the wins.

Just remember what that Mariners team did in the playoffs. It seems over 100 wins is a death sentence in the playoffs.

Just finished last nights condensed game.

How fun that would have been to see in person.

Don't think I have loved a Dodger team this much since the Garvey, Lopes, Cey, Russell era.

Nice ring!

I got my first look at Sasaki. Rough outing. Wasn't hit hard at all. But very erratic. And you could see he was totally out of sync with the mechanics. Wearing his emotions on his sleeve. Down on himself after walking a guy. In an inning and two thirds he had 61 pitches. Roberts saw enough. His night was over. Gave up two runs in the first. Walking in one of them.

I'm sure he will settle down and be a good pitcher before long. But he's gonna have to control his emotions and get rid of the doubt when he makes bad pitches. Like all sports you gotta have a short memory. You walk a guy. Its done. You now gotta pitch to the next guy. I think he's dwelling on previous pitches too much. Once he calms down he should be fine.

He definitely has the stuff but right now the game is too big for him. He wants to make a good impression and is trying too hard. As you say, he just needs to calm down.

You can see he was putting way too much pressure on himself. Wearing his emotions on his sleeve. He needs to spend time with guys like Kershaw and Shohei. He was over throwing which made his fastball lose a little. Instead of 100 mph it was more like 95-96.
