This is why I never really understood the security benefits of password manager tools. Sure, they are inherently more secure than your random unsecured website, but the amount of data they contain makes them a target for hackers. This could lead to a situation where the end users knows NONE of their passwords (if they use the autogenerate feature), and the hacker who steals the master gains access to all of them.

That's a good point, but I keep mine on a flash-drive as well, just in case I forget all of the multi-character passwords I have. They're in a text file that's in a zip file that's password protected. I also just enabled authenticator for lastpass as a second level of security too. I didn't even know I could do that until now.

Bottom line is, nothing is really safe anymore, so you can only do the best you can.
