i think the upcoming offseason something has to happen, if it will. either he gets extended or traded.

if the salary cap goes down by a big chunk woods might be happy to play out his contract and try again after that. you never know.

Yeah it's interesting. I think his contract in 2021 isn't as bad, where it balloons to $9M base salary (he's making $5M this year). So yeah it would seem if he were to make a stink it would be now, this offseason. But it hasn't seemed like any of that was going on. And I could see him elect to play it out assuming he doesn't force their hand this year.

I'd prefer they keep him and have him play it out, simply because if he is moved we're going to draft another receiver. McVay won't be caught short at that position IMO. And at that point he'll be 29, let him go get a big paycheck elsewhere if that's what he wants, but if something can get squeezed in around Ramsey and Kupp maybe he'll stick around.

I just wouldn't pay him top money. I do value him, but he's more a versatility piece than a guy who dominates so I'd slot him in below the bigger contract ranges.

i read somewhere that he said he wants to play out his career with the rams. i know every athlete says that about their team until they see the money offered by other teams, but i don't think he'll leave for an extra million or two. he seems too happy to play in LA to worry about an increased salary at a place he might not be so happy to play. the bills experience is probably entrenched in his psyche.

Yea agree with this. Not every player is from Gardena so coming to LA and literally playing at home has to be a dream come true. After playing in Buffalo in a shit offense with shit QBs who wouldn't be happy with his new situation. He is underpaid at this point and I hope he gets taken care of with a team friendly deal. Love his leadership and he's been nothing but a true pro from day 1. Would love to see him Kupp, and VJ for the next 3-4 years.
