What's going on y'all, first things first, I'm a Bears fan living in Chicago lol. I stumbled across your forum as I was looking for a pulse on how REAL Rams fans feel about their team. I come in peace... mostly lol.
Just wanted to share some insights on us. Bears offense can score with the best of them, they led the league this season in explosive plays, but have a propensity to start off slow as of late. We're calling this the 13 Personnel Bowl because that's what Sean & Ben love to do. I'd expect to see heavy TE sets and running on both sides early. Our OL is the strength of our unit, losing our rookie LT Ozzy Trapilo was huge, but the backup has started several games this year (he's better in the run game than pass game) and comported himself well. I'd expect much of the pass game concepts to flow opposite of his direction early on.
Loveland is a stud. I'm unsure if you have anybody who can match up with him whether LB or DB, he's legit a baby Kelce clone and will certainly be in the Top TE talks in 2026 and beyond behind McBride and Bowers. Mix in Rome Odunze and his size and route running being back, DJ Moore's hot play as of late, and Luther Burdens emergence, your secondary will have it's hands full (as will we with Puka and DA). All of them have decent speed, and Zaccheaus can burn when he gets out there.
The run game is pretty solid with Swift & Monangai, Swift is running much harder this year and Monangai although he's 5'7 is a bruiser. Both can catch out of the backfield.
Caleb. That's the guy. He's leaps and bounds better than what he was as a rookie (organization was a mess) and now with Ben in place he's truly showing everyone why he was a Heisman winner, and pick 1.1. He can make all the throws, in structure, and out of structure on the run (where he's his best), but he can also miss easy ones (it's maddening, normally is a result of poor footwork). He's deceptively fast, he didn't run a 40 at the combine but it's clear he's a 4.4 guy when he's on the move. His comfort zone is playing in tempo. He had 11 explosive plays in the 4Q ALONE on Saturday vs GB. He doesn't turn the ball over much, 4:1 TD to INT ratio in regular season, and if you watched Saturday you'd see 1 pick was on a poor route by Burden and essentially was a punt as it was 4th and 4. This offense is not to be slept on. Caleb is also a DMV boy, he's used to playing in this weather. Couple weeks ago we played the Browns at home in 10 degree weather -10'windchill and 30 mph wind and he was zipping through the wind with dots. His arm strength is second to only Josh Allen... sidenote: stafford is Calebs fav QB.
The defense on the other hand.... yikes. It's bad. The lack of a consistent impact pass-rusher and inability to get pressure on the QB is what will prohibit this team from going far IMO. Heading into the season the secondary was our strength, but injuries to Jaylon Johnson & Kyler Gordon early on really delayed that, those are 2 pro bowl DBs. I'd expect Jaylon on DA, and Nashon Wright (ew) on Puka. Dennis Allen may have to bracket him and force Stafford to rely on DA, Parkinsons, Ferguson if back and others etc. The defense is the epitome of bend but don't break, they'll give up lost of yardage, but in the redzone they were #5 when playing at home in redzone defense. Losing TJ Edwards was actually a benefit for us as he clearly lost 2 steps and could be exploited in coverage. Demarco Jackson has brought a speed element off the bench at LB that will be needed on Kyren & Corum and some of those TE's. I'd expect CJ Gardner Johnson back from concussion protocol and you may see some dime packages with him and Kyler out there, one blitzing one in coverage. Kyler is the better DB in coverage.
It's going to be brick out. Don't underestimate the temp. Models show depending on start time wind chills around 0, and who knows what that wind will be like off the lake. Homefied + the rabid bears fanbase behind them will be a huge factor.
I respect y'all offense and McVay. That's a 1 of 1 unit. This game to me should play out how the Bears / Niners game a few weeks ago did. 42-35 score. Maybe a little less and it's like 34-28 / 34-31. Both offenses should put up points, it'll come down to Special Teams & Ball security imo. I'd expect the Bears to exploit your special teams and may even try a reverse handoff from Duvernay to Burden. If the Bears can get some or ANY type of pressure this will be a close game in the 4Q.
Ben is a psychopath and the fanbase has embraced him and his personality, the team has took it on as well. He's all about ball. LaFleur incident wasn't a one time thing, LaFleur actually did the same to him with the handshake in the first meeting, second meeting, etc. there's been something there between them for a few years now. I have my thoughts on some things I have heard but whatever. Expect a dog fight on the Lake front sunday and plenty of big plays. Loveland receptions and burden yards is a good parlay piece for those who dabble.
