Far and away? I don't want to take anything away from Dotson because he's a massive upgrade over Dedich, but you're selling both of our starting OTs short.

Both AJ and McClendon have had stellar seasons which rival Dotsons, IMO.
Both tackles were good but I don't think people realize HOW good Dotson was this year (or has been in general).

Dotson does things on the field that a lot of guys can't do. His movement for his size, strength, vision and technique are top notch.

Honestly, it's so much more than the stats/grades but if you were just to go on something like that, PFF has Dotson as best guard in NFL this season before he went down - and again - even then, that doesn't reveal half of how good he is.

Dotson isn't just far and away our best olineman, he's one of the top olinemen in the league.

Watching Chris Long's podcast, he did point out that McVay has a 5-2 record vs Dennis Allen defenses, averaging nearly 28 pts per game. Says Allen relies on blitzes, which Stafford shreds.

Chris knows his shit, and has a great take on this one. This is a containment game for the defense, limit his scrambling up front with good edges and lane integrity and the defense should be good enough. Crush that pocket as a group and then you have a chance to get a hand on his little ass when he tries to escape.

Also Stafford and the backs have to protect the ball. That thing's gonna be frozen and ready to be punched or knocked out with physical tackles. And this is gonna be a physical game. Final eight is always high intensity.

Lastly Chris mentioning the Rams not playing their best game yet I think is accurate as well. Hoping they're capable of more and we're about to see it.

You can only play who’s on your schedule and all that…but the fact is that some teams are tested more than others.

I just think it is going to be up to the defense to win or lose this one. Verse said that they won't rush scared but they better rush smart or Williams will run for 200 yards. Containing him is the key, IMO. If they can do that I think they will be fine. I have not looked it up but my general feeling is that cold weather games are lower scoring games. This makes Mevis so important to the outcome.

Apparently he lived in the Midwest and used to shovel snow off the field to practice kicking. I like that.

On offense I think that the running game is the key, limiting turnovers, keep their defense on the field.

Win this thing 45-3 for my nerves but I will settle for 20-17 if that is what it takes.

I think that is what it will take.

Strap in.

GO RAMS!!!

Need to keep Williams in the pocket. Don't let him get outside of the pocket where he can make a big off schedule play. Verse & Young must be disciplined and have big games where they actually sack him. Limit the near misses.
DeMarco Farr said the same thing basically on the latest Between the Horns show.
Don't let him play outside of the pocket on his own accord ..... only let him out there if you're right on his tail, chasing him down.
Make him throw it away, get the sack , or make him take risks by passing it into coverage.

My take on this game is that Ben Johnson will utilize those big receivers and attack the Rams secondary all day. I expect a high-scoring game, with the Rams doing the same thing. The game will be close with it coming down to a field goal or who gets the ball last. Of course I'm hoping for a 51-0 blowout but I'll take the Rams in a close one all day. Limit the turnovers, which can easily decide the game. Go Rams.

It’s great they took care of business against weaker teams. But they struggled with every good team. It does look like they’ve improved and are gaining confidence however.

Gotta look at what’s in front of you not what’s behind you. Bears have won a lot of close games so it they can stay in games. But the Rams play very good to excellent offense they should be able to score 35+ points then it’s up to the defense to be no better than above average to keep the Bears below that mark.

What I really like is the word "Full" next to Fergie and Whittington. McVay needs to use every offensive weapon he has Sunday. A bomb to Tutu would be great to see too!!!
Speaking of Tutu does anyone think he'll be back next year? I don't think so. 6 catches. 1.67 million bucks per catch.

I don't know if this has been mentioned in this thread, but the Rams storied franchise will be playing their 58th postseason game in 89 years. They are 28-29. A chance to be .500 for the first time since 1952. And with a win, a chance next week to be over .500 for the first time since 1951.

A couple of other postseason facts for y'all.

The Rams scored 34 points last week in Carolina and that is the most points a Sean McVay team has scored in the postseason (vs Arizona in 2021).
The most the Rams have ever scored in the postseason was vs NFC North teams. 49 vs Minnesota in 1999 and 45 vs Green Bay in 2001.
A win tomorrow would give McVay has 10 of 29 Rams postseason wins!
He's 2-2 in Divisional round play.
He's 1-2 vs the NFC North so evening that record would be nice.
