I am not sure where the regression narrative is coming from. He is still the back up C and probably the next in line to take over the position.
One guy reads into the fact that he is playing Guard and they have someone else at C and instead of assuming they are cross training and evaluating others, they jump to he is regressing. There is nothing that points to regression other than people on this board stating it as fact.

He didn't grade out as well in preseason games is where most folks tend to get it from. We shall see, maybe they like Limmer as the center down the road? Be nice to have him and Lampkin (practice squad st least) there as I don't see Shelton being here long.

Lampkin could be back. If he ends up on the Eagle's practice squad, and the Rams have a need down the road, they could poach Lampkin back.

It’s always interesting how different ones decide who deserve to make the top 53 before the preseason even starts, and never change their mind.
Whereas the Coaches of said teams wait and see who shows they deserve to be on the team.
Then these coaches are viewed as idiots for not choosing somebody who didn’t earn a spot on the team.

But I thought teams would be concentrating on their own guys and we shouldn’t worry about cut players making it to the PS.

4 of our cuts went straight to another teams 53 without clearing waivers.
That is amazing. I love the McVay Era of Rams Football.

Philly claimed him on waivers, he's on their 53 man roster. He needed to clear waivers before the Rams (or any other team) could put him on a PS.
Conversely, if Philly wants to put him on their PS, they have to waive him, wait for waiver to clear and then he can go on PS (or any other team)

1) First risk was cut players not clearing waivers and going straight to a team's 53 Active Roster. (4 players in our case - highest in league)

2) Next risk was our cut players clearing waivers and choosing another team's practice squad over ours, if we offered.

3) Final risk is players accepting offer to our PS that can be poached to the new teams 53.
