Slot is officially our top need on offense now. They can get it done later, like round 3, but I suspect it'll be round 1 or after a trade down.

IMO Rams didn't have much of a choice on this one. No way they could keep him for 30M in 2025.

The guy turns 32 in June. He's had the MCL, torn ACL, hamstring, and worst of all-- 2 recent major high ankle sprains. He never had elite long speed, but he used to have elite quickness and change of direction. IMO age and accumulated injuries have caught up to him.

Thanks to Kupp for an unbelievable career and especially for carrying the team on his back in 2021 and the SB win.

But Rams just can't keep for 30M a guy who is nowhere near elite anymore.

Immediately?

Negotiations must have really went bad.
Kupp: What you mean Matt wants 20 mil more? I need to take another Pay cut? Why doesnt he?

Mcsnead: Take a pay cut! Non-negotiable!

Kupp: NO!

Mcsnead: Okay Then We will replace you!

Kupp: You cant replace me!

Mcsnead: Already Did, We will seek a Trade immediately

Kupp: ......

Gets traded to Chargers, Beats SF in SB and we cry because we are 6-11 with Kupps replacement, and No cap space anyway!

What? We're in the midst of Kupp's decline.

I know you feel like he's still WR1 but don't you suppose the Rams have looked at more all 22 tape than all of us combined? They obviously feel he's declining and it's time to move on.
Decline from the greatest season a WR has ever produced? Obviously natural. If you're just attributing last season's stats to what you perceive as a decline, he had a similar stretch in 2019 and we all know what came after that. As I pointed out with other star players, this FO is quick to move on if the future money combined with future projected production don't align with their estimates.

Might be the right move business wise but it’s a bad look for a team who professes”we not me”
They may as well just cut him. Any team trading for him would expect the Rams to pay the 5 mill bonus.
This bullshit of finding a place that’s good for him and his family is bullshit.
If that’s what they cared about, then just cut him.
They want Kupp to do the dirty work, meaning find a team who will trade for him and will renegotiate the 2026 number of 20 mill
Fuck that. Pay him his 5 mill bonus and release him

Firstly, we don't what what is and what isn't bullshit.

Secondly, this is 100% about we not me.

We is the organisation and what is best for it.

Me is about the individual.

Thirdly, this is why McVay will go to the HoF if he stays a coach because he can separate his emotions from his vision like all great coaches can.

Coop was a great Ram and I love the. guy, but it was time to move on.

No fucker will be complaining if we win another ring next year.

Yes, agree. This is actually a good sign that the organization can separate emotions from their decision making.
