Galette has been liking a lot of rams related posts and following some rams accounts. Nothing but speculation here but he would fill a need for this team. Rams would have to move some money around to make it work though.

Hmmm someone posted on here a fre days ago about adding veteran edge rush.

I like the move , we need depth and experience at that position. If hes healthy then he can be a big contributor

The fact that he is following Rams accounts or at least the one is a nice sign. Could be that Obo isn't coming back as fast as they thought. JG was a top five pressure rusher by percentage IIRC. Even a great secondary needs a pass rush.

I've been wanting this signing to happen for months. Gallete would be a 10 sack guy on this team easy.

Well, signs seem to be pointing that way now. They'd have to make a move to have it happen since we have literally no cap room. What veteran on the team currently can we dump to sign him? Can't be waiting for AD to sign because at best his new contract will remain cap neutral this season.

One way would be to convert most of Barron's salary this year to a signing bonus. A $6 million bonus would reduce his cap hit this year by $4 million, while increasing his cap hit $2 million each of the next two seasons. That would also give the Rams cap room for emergency signings during the season.

I don't mind adding Junior, but what does that say about the guys we have now? Desperation move by us?

Galette was out of football for two years with Achilles injuries, played 411 snaps in 2017 and is considering retirement. This guy might be washed up, plus the alleged domestic violence charge in 2015 bothers me.

Has Barron ever practiced with the Rams?
Haha.

Could be young guys being a little slow on the uptake of some info....not unusual.
May be Longagre is recovering slowly.
May be just kicking the tires on a solid vet that can rotate on the edge.
Not much depth and as Dwight Freeney has shown, there is always a market for an edge rusher.

Galete retirement talk was because he wasn't getting any higher paying offers like his recent past which were around 1 Million IRRC. He didn't think it was worth playing for that kind of money.

That helps.

There is also the a little less cap than his salary/bonus hit when you sign a veteran IIRC. Galete shouldn't cost more than 2 Million with incentives that may count for next year.
