I brought up the McVay/Shraeger connection with the Tutu Atwell pick, and the Julio Jones news this week. Here is another example of that relationship. Shraeger thinks we have a shot with Julio. Not to mention the Raheem Morris connection as his WR coach a few years ago. What would it take to get it done? We would obviously have to send Kupp or Woods back. Plus another player maybe and a pick?

Interesting... Would you rather have Goff + Jones or Stafford + Jackson?

Because with what we gave up for Stafford, not much left to go get Jones, but had they not made the Stafford Trade, I think Jones might already be a Ram on draft day.

Interesting way to look at it. I think this is an oversimplification though. Are you saying at the same costs? Because I certainly wouldn't have wanted to give up two firsts and a third for Julio, and Jackson was essentially free. Now if you're asking would I rather have Goff, Julio, and some of those picks back that's a different question, but as is it doesn't really compare.

Don't care about picks. If we're talking about 2021, then Matt Stafford and Desean Jackson.

Julio for all his gifts, just can't score. IDK what it is. He's had a great QB his whole career, other guys like Roddy White, Tony Gonzalez, and Calvin Ridley for most of that too to take off double, triple coverage. Desean is a different type of WR, but he always had a set role and was pretty consistent. Julio disappeared a lot.

Yes, Goff + Julio and those pics back where you only give up a #2 and #4 for Jones.

Now you really can't afford to give up more pics for Jones even if they are day 2 picks.

It’s an interesting question but it’s impossible to quantify what the draft picks would become. I do know if Stafford plays at a top 5 level that a lot of people (McVay included) seem to expect, I’d rather have the qb upgrade than the upgrade represented turning Robert woods into Julio Jones. Now who knows what will happen but this trade is simple just like the Jalen Ramsay one.. if Stafford balls out everything else is moot. If he doesn’t ....say he gets hurt and is never the same or gets out performed by Goff... this trade could spell the beginning of the end for our FO IMO

These things may be fun to contemplate but I don't see it happening.

Seems like Robert Woods gets brought up the most as trade bait for this fantasy so just to put this out there...

For the last three seasons between Jones and Woods
Total yards = 3851 total touchdowns = 17
Total yards = 3716 total touchdowns = 18

I know two different types of players and Jones has missed some games so not apples to apples (maybe fuji vs golden crisp apples lol) but from pure production standpoint they both have offered the exact same thing to their respective teams for the last three seasons. /shrug

I'd rather trade for a beast ass RB or TE that would cost alot less in the trade and on the cap tbh.

Y'all see that Hopkins said he'd restructure for Julio? Damn I hope he doesn't end up in the NFC West (unless we pull a miracle and get him cheaply), it's beastly enough lol

The bottom line is very simple. Cost vs Need and the cost would be greater than the need. Next year the Rams have a ton of re-signing and extending to do. I'd rather spend the money on extending Darious Williams and the other guys they will need to sign.

I don't get why people want to dismantle what is a proven WR unit and jeopardize their ability to re-sign key players next year for an aging player who is past his prime. At 32 how much longer can he realistically play at his "prime year level"? The first thing to go is a WRs speed. I doubt he runs anywhere near his rookie 4.39 he posted when drafted. Why do you think he's on the market? Because his $23M price tag is ridiculous for an aging WR. Then he's going to cost $19.2M over the final two years as well! Give me a freaking break The Ram's will have about $5-$6M in cap space in September. So who do you cut to make room for him?
