LJ under 5-8/195 played a ton of Nickel Back the last two seasons for Wade. Yes he was the starting deep safety but still ....depending on the offense LJ ended up one on one coverage.many times with a receiver who had length & size. LJ experienced a ton of Fail Mode & was exploited a lot in 2018 by OC's.
I found it strange last season when Corner NRC 5-8/178 who was our assigned & highly paid Nickel did not see a lot of action @ times due many times to LJ action as Nickel. Some knew this but LJ also put on size in muscle the last 2 seasons. JL is very cut & in outstanding shape. Those extra lbs might have slowed him down physically. Raiders will not be happy with this signing IMO.
Meanwhile back @ the Thousand Oaks Ranch going forward after this recent LJ departure, Snead has nine corners under contract, He has corralled a sizeable cadre of SEVEN prospective 2019 reserve CB's behind Talib & Peters. Five of which appear are mostly pure Nickel/Dime Backs.
