When you're deep and the call is that good you have gotta at least prevent the catch there. Patriots are going to be lickin their chops watching film of you and not just in this game but through the entire season.

This defense is playing near-exceptional ball right now but we need him to play better in the big one. (y)

It honestly looked like Brees got very lucky he underthrew that ball so much. If that was a normal QB with a solid arm he hits Ginn in stride and Joyner makes a better play on the ball. Not an excuse just my first thought when the play happened.

Joyner is just not seeing the ball this year. I clapped and screamed so loud on that play I made my 6 year old daughter cry lol.

Peters and crew shut down Thomas for 3 catches for 46 yards and 1 catch after the first quarter, how bout some love for Peters.

If Ginn would have been running to a well thrown ball Joyner would have been there. Joyner ended up not reading the ball's trajectory, which led him to not making the correct adjustment, thus the bad play on the ball, and just further emphasizes why he's not a good safety.

I was so furious at Joyner. He needs to attack the ball. He nearly cost us the game. JJ3 would have picked it.

Does anyone know if Sam Shields can play safety? Probably can't switch it up at this point, but at times I wonder if that switch might be fruitful.

Joyner’s awareness has just been off this whole year. I don’t know why but I am done with it. He certainly hasn’t lived up to his price tag this season. But that play sealed the deal for me. It’ll take a great super bowl game on his part to make me want him back in the off-season.

No. Doesn't tackle well enough. His ball-skills and speed are great, but you can't trust him to make the key tackle.

I was livid on that play.
It looked like a possible int to me. It's as if he gave up, to avoid a pi call

We've seen it many times . He can't judge the ball in the air .

Wondering if Earl Thomas could be affordable coming off injury.

Joyner knew he blew that play. I’m still glad he will be out there for us in two weeks.

We need to draft a safety. We can’t afford a solid FA and Joyner is no longer worth his price tag. Our offseason draft priority should be
1) SS
2) ILB
3) OLB
4) C
5) LG
6) CB

FYI, JJ3 plays SS and he's not going anywhere. He need a FS, not a SS.

JJ III has much better ball skills-I thought he was more of a FS. Either way we need to replace Joyner

All the more reason I want to go all in on getting Earl Thomas in the off-season.

Listen, brother... I KNOW you aren't trying to bring up the draft before the Super Bowl are you?

Mack, I feel pretty confident that won't happen. But you never know.

We said the same thing about Suh last year... we'll see how FA shakes out in a few months...

Safety position in FA is solid though, so there's a good chance they address safety that route and leave the draft for CB and DL.
