So why not bring back Cooper as well? I don’t see anything wrong with having a guy like Natson on the team. Plus, Countess is doing just as well on kick returns. Our special teams is still great without Cooper. It’s actually better this year.

I understand the coaches more then likely will just cut Natson after Cooper returns. But I wish we could keep both.
You're basically arguing for having 2 or 3 guys on the roster to do those jobs instead of just 1 in Cooper. Granted Countess is depth in the secondary too. The whole point is Natson does just one thing, he does it pretty good. But there are people who are also good at that who are capable of doing other things well also. It's simple roster economics.

Let him PR the rest of the season and see how he does. I would also like to see if he can have any kind of productive role in the O. Depending on the results you decide between PC and JoJo for next year. Since PC is closer to FA than JoJo (I think that's right, isn't JoJo a rookie?) that may play into the decision. Who knows? Maybe neither are on the Rams next season. If he's capable, I would like to see him play some O as well.

No doubt Pharoah Cooper was excellent last year as a kick returner. Something happened towards the end that appeared to be mental vs physical and he ended up fumbling 4 times and losing 2. As a receiver we didn't need him but he ended up with 11 rec for 84 yards. I don't ever see the Rams needing him as a receiver but perhaps he can continue to contribute as a return specialist when he returns. In the meantime - I am excited by what I see in JoJo. Of course, that could all come crashing down if there was ever an untimely fumble.

Cooper provides nothing on offense and has always looked bad a WR. So it's JoJo for me too. He's visibly quicker and faster, and will be getting some TDs soon. Cooper was a good returner but doesn't have breakaway speed. JoJo has that speed.

Tough call. True Cooper has done very little at wr and that was what he was drafted for.

Natson looks great. Question is who is going to fumble less and be more productive. Don't need two.

Lastly not fair to Cooper.

I am 50/50 on this partially bc I said they should have kept Natson on the 53 man roster

I'm sure that McVay and Coach Bones will keep the guy they think offers more. Pharaoh was a pro-bowler last year, lets not forget that. But, McVay has never given a player playing time just because. Jamon Brown was a top graded guard last year, but he didn't get gifted his position after that suspension...

Let's celebrate the depth on this roster.

Jojo is quickly becoming one of my favorite Rams... gotta love rooting for the underdog, and at 5’7” and a buck fifty, he fits the description.

If he can stay healthy, hard for me to imagine how he stays off the highlight reel. The dude is electric.

Jojo will become a fan favorite real soon, everybody loves the story of the player who somehow beats the odds.

I think Cooper is gone too. I like him, but Natson plays at a different speed and if the staff thinks they can get anything out of him as a WR, he'll stick.
This. Pharoh, IMO, cannot play receiver where I think JoJo can step in at WR

He's so short that if they run a jet sweep with him, he'll be halfway down the field before the defense can find/sees him :D

Yeah Pharoh has had time to develop as a wideout with mediocre return, which is why I keep saying he's a bubble guy when he returns. But I do think he knows the offense, which is something that is probably not true with Natson and it's why you didn't see Natson on jet sweeps in the last game. He'd be like Tavon where they know he isn't going to run a full tree and the DBs would know they can roll up tight on him.

My concerns with Pharoh outside of his lack of development as a wideout (I think he's hits peak in that role basically) were that he didn't look the same on returns after that playoff game. I am not sure he's back from it mentally, and him being out just compounds it.

But all that aside trying to predict the bottom of the wideout room a year ahead is kind of ridiculous. I'll just say once again that the Rams are going to be looking to improve it. Our WR depth is disappointing.

In college, Pharoh was a multi position player.
He not only returned kicks and punts, he was a wide receiver, played running back and has also thrown touchdown passes.

Watch the hit he takes at the end of this run. It's like a boy getting hit by a grown man. Love his speed and enthusiasm but as others in this thread have mentioned, when does he cough up the ball or get injured due to his small frame?

Did you notice how that hit didn't bother him at all, though? He's too small to get hurt by being knocked down. It's like kids. They don't have that far to fall. Unless someone lands on him or he gets hot by two people from opposite sides at the same time, he'll be okay.

Be smaller, JoJo.
