That’s a lot of experience in the secondary now. JJ3 will be a great mentor for Kinchens and the other youngsters.

I like him a lot, but he shouldn't be getting a lot of snaps at this point in his career.

Seems like the plan is to have more experience in the secondary. Good idea. Too many mistakes by the youngsters led to too many big plays.

I had a similar thought - they are bringing in the experience on the back end given that they will be less experienced on the front end. Good move, and it gives the younger secondary players some experienced guys to learn from.

Love it. JJ == Super high character, smart player who can give solid minutes still, and with questions marks Yeast and Kinchens, JJ will be terrific mentor, and he can also provide solid (if not spectacular) play if Yeast falters (last year his tackling was awful) or Kinchens (third round pick, like JJ was) falter and prove to be liabilities.

What this tells me is that they are not happy with their SCB options. So with JJ and Curl they can play Lake at SCB where he looked very good last year. This gives them a very good secondary but it also gives them injury insurance with Curl's health a potential concern.

Overall it's a very good move. This secondary is beginning to look as dangerous as the DL.

The guy is only 28 and plays solid, I don't understand why his agent couldn't get him more offers, but glad to have him back.

You had me until Curl’s injury concerns :) the top half I agree with. As to the second paragraph, is it really looking more dangerous without AD?

He got paid by the Jets, maybe with the combination of the culture and his duties being a mentor are more important to him than another pay check? Love the mentality if that's true.
