Interesting thing about Saleh is that his whole coaching career has been on the defensive side of the ball but his roots are on offense. He was a 4 year starter at TE for some college in Michigan. Glad he’s gone and think he will do a good job with the Jets-not that I care.

A lot of that as we know is timing. Can't fully interview until after a team is out of the playoffs. You can get one and this year it's only tele conference type of interview. Plus he's had another season to impress GM/Owner types same thing IMO will happen with Staley after this year.
Would be shocked if Staley goes anywhere this year. I was thinking after next season maybe.
Unless I am misinterpreting your statement.

I have only heard of 2 interviews Jets and Chargers.
Have you heard about any others

No that's what I'm saying, timing of interviews in the playoffs will lead to another year of Staley as our DC IMO, especially after we win tomorrow!

Is it betrayal if I kinda hope he has a successful career?

Sure some of the rah rah stuff seems a tad staged (I don’t believe it is), but I like his demeanor other than that. He has put together solid defenses even though they have been one of the most injury plagued units over the past 3/4 years. I’m intrigued to see him as the head man and glad he’s not in the West.

I don't think so.
I want him to be successful as well. But for me it has more
to do with wanting to see the Jets do well.
That's why I am pulling for the Browns. I feel for their fans and would like
to see the perennially losing teams find some success.

Meh

I think the jets continued failure just got extended.

Rah rah screamers grate on players pretty quickly... especially when losses start outnumbering wins. Maybe I'm wrong, but my guess is that this blowhard's ceiling is being a DC as long as the team has a HC who has control. This job is gonna be too much for him. There will be lots of screaming though.

This.

Heck...He might keep being or become a great tactician... but does that translate to the leadership needed at the top of a team?

I have my doubts too. Those Patricia comparisons seem solid. QB in place... etc.
