Green Bay and Oakland both have extra picks in round 1, both before the Rams choice. SImmons would be a great choice for either team with that extra pick in the 20's provided he fits in the the D.

Better players than Tillery will be on the board when the Rams draft at 31, dont see him being the choice.

Neither Simmons nor Tillery are on the list of official Rams visits. I doubt the Rams choose either one without a visit to discuss Simmons' injury and Tillery's attitude.
This makes a lot of sense.
Good point

I get what PFF is saying here. His flaws can be corrected. Even with them he was productive. Some good coaching and desire could jump his play a couple of notches. He could become a force if he is all in.

It will be interesting to see where he gets drafted and by which team. I read he likes to party which isn't the ideal Rams type of player. I think he fits what Wade likes as far as size at DE with the fact that he can be moved around on pass rush downs. He seems like a player that could improve greatly if he is willing to put in the work.

Wonder if the Patsies take him if available at 32?

I'm more into drafting Lawrence too.

Here's what we know. AD is ALL ABOUT "staying hungry" and NOT being satisfied. Heck, first day of voluntary meetings, he PUT the guys into the weight room. You KNOW no one is gonna mess with AD. NO. ONE.

So I have every faith and confidence that IF the Rams draft someone with knuckleheaded tendencies, that'll get sorted out tout de suite (aka toot sweet) either in that meeting room or during drills.

Not saying that it would make anyone okay for the Rams (I'd literally be done with football if the Rams signed Greg Hardy, for example), but I'm fairly certain that AD's intensity is kinda a black hole for knuckleheadedness. It's gravity is so powerful that it sucks it all in and lets none out.

It's a benefit. But it's not like it kept Suh from cruising through 80% of the regular season.

AD can push players some. Brockers mentioned it in his presser the other day. It's up to him to keep growing as a football player. Tillery did show up more this past season. He is very interesting as he has a lot of talent, size and quickness for a 6'6" inch defensive lineman that is hard to find. His pass rush from any defensive line position is his biggest asset with potential to get better. He has some qualities Wade likes. You never know. I think Rams look for more of a middle run stopper like Lawrence but, in the right circumstances Tilery could be an option.

Tillery would be a 3-4 DE. Lawrence a 3-4 NT. Wilkins a 3-4 DT. Simmons can play all 3-4 DL positions.
The Rams have an all world 3-4 DT (Donald), a versatile NT/DE (Brockers), and a solid rotational DE (Frankin-Meyers).

Which is the best DL prospect for the next 5 years?

Man, I’ll keep bangin’ the table for Simmons, but watch out for teams in mid 20s stealing him.

Browns
Colts
Raiders
GB
Eagles

All teams that could mess up my dreams

Whoever the Rams draft it is definitely going to be AD's time to step up and lead. He's got his big contract, all the accolades, etc., now step up on the leadership side and get your Reggie White on.

Maybe no official visit for Tillery. Maybe he answered all the questions in a private meeting at the combine.

Long ESPN Profile:
From South Bend to South Africa, Jerry Tillery is ready for what's next
http://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2019/s...th-bend-south-africa-jerry-tillery-ready-next

Excerpt:
He played the final eight games of 2018 with a torn labrum in his right shoulder, and still had his best season. The injury wasn't discovered until Tillery went home before the College Football Playoff semifinal. His mother, Mildred, a nurse at an imaging center, told Jerry to get an MRI, which revealed the tear. Mildred wanted him to sit out the semifinal game against Clemson. Not happening.

Interesting. VB says the Rams visited with Tillery at the combine but it’s not shown on any published lists.

There's a big difference between AD having an influence on a rookie with knucklehead tendencies, and influencing a semi-legend like Suh.

I voted "yes" for Tillery, with the understanding that there certainly will be other guys available that I'd be good with also.
Just take the top talent, whether DL or OL...or even CB, depending on who'd there.

While it’s easy to make the argument that we should focus on immediate contributors, you have to remember good teams plan with the long term prospects in mind. Simmons when healthy is a top 5-10 pick in this draft. Imagine getting that value and steal potential at #31! Now imagine him fully healthy next year alongside AD- NASTY! I think we have the depth on the line bw returning starters and last year’s draft class to really fortify the DL. Maybe add a vet or undrafted rookie to the mix while we let Simmons heal, then release the demon next year after Brock walks.

I’ll take Simmons all day long and twice next Thursday!

Just remember Jaylon Smith for Dallas. They got him in the second round and had to wait a year but he has really produced with Vander Esch so sonetimes it worth waiting for.

A tough call

My point is for all AD's high end level of play he isn't some juggernaut leader. He needs to improve there and I also wouldn't assume he buys us all sorts of room for error on douchebag draft picks.
