Probably. Not sure I won't toss this thing in the river before that happens though. And @LesBaker it is a Galaxy 6 and I have never owned a phone with worse battery life. You also have to essentially double close everything or it continues running it. Not sure if that is a Verizon imposed feature or not but this thing is a POS. You couldn't get me to buy the 7. Great camera but that is about where it ends.

I got a S6 Edge and have great battery life. I got it on release day last year. Its charged 100% around 6 am and I still have like 30%ish battery life after work. Keep in mind I play games, check other apps, look for work, check ROD, youtube, text, email, etc all the while the phone itself is always using battery to get a signal and updating my location for the weather app.

Try power save mode and/or turning location off. That helps too.

My HTCs would generally last two or more days between charges even if I used it a lot. To me, having to charge a phone twice in one day does not say good battery life. My Samsung is not an edge - just an S6. But if I forget to put it on the charger at night, it is off in the morning. And if I use it a lot, it won't make it much past lunch.

I got an S6 too, the normal one. My battery is great, I'm guessing hes got a bunch of apps in the backround draining his juice.

@RamFan503 , they have apps that kill all the apps draining your battery in the backround.

Yeah that sounds like a lemon device, not a problem with the phones as a whole.

...which apps are sucking the life out? Go into "settings", then maybe "more" (depending on your exact model) then "battery" and it will tell you, since it was last powered on, which apps are draining the pond... and list % of power over that time-frame by app.

Last night my alarm clock decided to drain upwards of 65% of the life out when I picked it up this morning... some apps are buggier than others!

Doesn't seem to be any one thing that would be considered optional. Android OS, Bluetooth, Screen, Android System are the main ones. Hell - I'm not even surfing porn. It has a power saving mode but the shit it says it will do to save power is stuff I don't want it to do and never had to with any of my other phones - Dim the screen, reducing the time before the screen is shut off (hell - I'm actually considering extending THAT), turn off vibration feedback, etc. I wonder if there is something that simply tells it to shut off apps when you leave them.

Sometimes batteries just turn to shit. One good test is to take it out and spin it. If it spins (because it's bubbled), then it's no good anymore.
Take it out and see if it's bulging on either side.

IIRR the battery doesn't come out of this POS. And if it comes to spinning the thing to check it, it may just be as I see how far I can skip it into the surf.

an s6? I'm sure it comes out.
Here are a few other tricks you can use.

1. Adjust the screen brightness manually and make it at about 45-50%. You can still read it.
2. Don't use the Verizon (or any carrier's) text app. Use the plain messenger app that comes in the phone.
3. Turn off vibration.
4. Enable power saving mode.

Other than that, get an LG. That's what I use and the battery lasts all day.

Well don't do that.
Send it to me and *I'll* make it work.

You won't get it back, but you were never planning on the surf returning it to you either, right?

Maybe when I have a replacement. Unless of course the ocean finds me in a bad mood. Then it's the age of Aquarius for the S6.
