One thing some might be overlooking is that not only did the Rams add two high level CBs in their prime, but they added two high level CBs, who have played in a ton of big games with each winning two rings.

Remember the comments by Verse about how the defense was reacting in that Seattle game? These two guys can settle that young defense down in that situation. I think that aspect of these moves is huge, and maybe one reason why they were targeted.
No doubt and it’s not like either are Marcus Peters needing to act out every other game or avoid a tackle.

That playoff experience against some of the better NFL WRs is irreplaceable. It will also add leadership with a penchant for winning to the team.

Why do I think they might grab a quarterback at 13?

Maybe because they claim they're not looking for one?

Maybe because we don't have anybody signed behind Stafford?

Just a weird gut feeling?
Hell I don't know. :)

I think it's a possibility if the Rams can't get Garoppolo signed. If the Rams do sign him then i think it will be Brazzell or Boston (WR) IMO.

There was talk about the Cardinals interested in Garoppolo. But they signed Minshew. Brissett is still considered the starter. I gotta think it ain't happening in AZ unless they move Brissett. So its possible he returns to the Rams. He seemed content to be Stafford's backup.

curious

how long is breaking news , breaking news ?

If you’re the first to break any kind of news, is it not breaking news?

But I agree with you. We should get rid of that tag so next time I see it, it’s for a new signing/trade

until people stop posting in the thread and it falls down onto the 2nd page

or SoRam goes on a rant in 2 months and brings it back up again!

I agree on his talent, I just meant what level of blocking is he at?

* This may sound strange, but there was only one version of a McVay offense that I enjoyed and that was the McVay/Gurley offense. Love seems to fit that but I have no idea about his blocking. Gurley was really good.
Are you saying that you didn't enjoy last year's offense?

This is a great point, and you can add that both of these guys went through that together. The fact that they have played together before means that they have that extra layer of communication and knowledge between each other that will come in very helpful.

This is the 2nd time McSnead "handcuffed" the acquisition of two different players (the first being Verse and Fiske), and in the right circumstances that can make the whole greater than the sum of the parts.

Respectfully

I'm not buying that one with Verse.... He's played in enough big games and played Seattle three times in the same season where he could use his instincts in the event there are communication lapses.... it happens more than you think

He was the only one pouting about it after the loss.... Ya it was a tough loss and it will be with him until the beginning of next season. But I think he doubled back on his statement that still made no sense to me... whatever.

The two new DB's are going to need some help as well as they are coming into a new defense / system and a new environment. So Verse needs to step up and show some level of leadership.

Actually, it is the third time. Acquiring Byron Young and Kobie Turner preceded the Verse and Fiske drafting. In fact, observing how Byron and Kobie pushed each other with a friendly rivalry in training camp, preseason, and during their rookie season influenced McSnead to actively seek player pairs, which they termed "pods," who would beneficially push each other forward.

The acquisition of our two latest CBs are an example of veteran player pods.
