“When we started having trouble, we didn’t know what to do,” Verse said. “Like some of us on the defense, some, you know, I’m going to take full blame, too. Like, there were a couple of times I’m like, but they’re running the other way. Like, I don’t know what to do. I can’t chase. Like I’m not that fast. I can’t chase him on the backside. What do I do? So when we had some troubles, we just kind of like mentally shut down.”

I heard that. Kind of alarming. Now we might be taking Verse a bit out of context, but my sense is that the Rams are missing some level of leadership, both on the field, and in the coaching, on the defensive side of the ball.

Not naming names, but we could really use an Aaron Donald type player that takes it up a notch when it matters. Seemed to be missing this year, and that was disappointing.

Reactions: So Ram
Verse just being honest. Nothing wrong with that. Anyone alarmed by it might want to think back to the last time they got their asses beat when strapped up.

He's got shit to work on too. Like some more variety in rush moves. But I think he's gonna be just fine.
