I agree. And here I was a few weeks ago wondering if Henderson was a bust. I’m not thinking that way now. I love how Henderson can kick it into another gear when he sees a hole. Gurley isn’t showing that burst.

One thing that’s hard to miss is Brown starts to get more carries and gets injured, two years in a row.
I think this is Brown's final season as a Ram.

When was the last time any Ram RB had a long TD run in the regular season?

I know Gurley had a 35 yd TD against Dallas in playoffs. I think that was the only TD run over 30 yds since 2017.

We are overdue. Only question is will it be Gurley or Henderson.

How long was that Gurley run before the half in Seattle a couple years back, when the Rams beat on the Seahawks 42-7?
Or was that a swing pass?

he had a 80 yard TD on a screen pass against the Titans in 2017 on Christmas eve. Can't remember the last long run. I guess Woods had one against the Giants in 2017 too but he's not a RB.

There just aren’t that many 70-80 yard runs in the NFL, so this is a bit of a fantasy quest, if you ask me.

There damn sure won’t be until this O line gels, IMO.

Through week 7, 5 runs over 70 yards across the league.
9 runs over 60 yards.

What is that, 112 games not accounting for byes?

Interesting, how many runs/screens of 40+ yards? Gurley/Rams haven’t had one since 2017.

Gurley was a machine last season until something happened to him in the chiefs game.

I think people tend to read too much into things. That said I said in another post that IMO if Henderson proved he can be that #2 RB that Brown would not be re-signed next year. He showed last Sunday that he probably can.

It wasn't that long ago that I was being ostracized because I said Gurley didn't look the same.
So now it's a cold cold hard fact that there's something physically wrong with Gurley?

First of all there's nothing wrong with Gurley.
This is exactly what it looks like when you're playing behind an inexperienced O line AND they're doing exactly what they said with Gurley and giving him less carries to keep him fresh for the whole season.

I hope so

And as a Rams sunshine pumper that I may be

Guys...

Gurley has ( thru my observations) mentally checked out (part time at minimum) and I’ve pretty much determined when this happened, vs KC last year early 1st qtr (my opinion, hopefully I’m still allowed one)

Just my (most reluctant) observation, I realize this isn’t a ROD consensus

Let’s see what Henderson has...I’m on board after his Atl showing

swing pass for 57 yards, I believe

Great play that took the momentum completely away from the hags.

What happened in the Chiefs game that would cause him to check out mentally? Many believe that he hurt his knee in that game but that would be a physical not mental problem, wouldn't it?

IMO many people are just guessing and hoping to be able to one day say they were right. Remember 2016 when Gurley was a 1 year wonder, bust? The only problem I have seen where Gurley is concerned is the OL, just like 2016. Now people want to claim that because Gurley has never been a fan of the mindless media he has mentally checked out. When the OL starts blocking like they did in the dallas playoff game last season Gurley will return to the Gurley we all know and love.

I think this is Brown's final season as a Ram.

I doubt that. Cutting him would save a third of the two-year contract they just matched this offseason - $1.1 million.

I expect him to be a third-stringer next year, but that's not a lot of money to save for a good RB who is a very good blocker, and who they would likely need to invest precious draft capital to replace. While I wouldn't be shocked if the Rams found a replacement, I would be surprised at least. They have other places to use their draft capital, especially after trading so much of it this season.

Against Detroit Gurley broke free and would have scored but opted to take a knee so the Lions would have to take their last TO.
If he wasn’t so unselfish, he would have had a 38 yard TD. But since he’s a team guy, it only counts as 36 and a 2 yard TD run 2 plays later.
There’s your breakaway TD

Brown got his guaranteed money this year and next year he can be cut costing only 50k against the cap which saves over 1 mill.
Brown is as good as gone

Except whoever replaces him will cost at least 1st-year league minimum plus a signing bonus, and most likely a draft choice. So the savings will be about half that plus a pick, and for a guy they won't trust to block, and at the cost of drafting somebody at another position of need.

Not impossible, but they like Brown, and replacing him won't be all that easy.

They don’t need to spend 1 mill on a 3rd string running back.
Henderson looking better every week and is #2.
League minimum for rookie is about 500k
Could even be John Kelly, who costs about 570k
