This is a big "if". Last season we had true continuity along the O-Line for the first time in like 5 seasons & had a decent Center (thank you Coleman) and our new RT seems to be acquitting himself well. And I feel like we've arrived at a place of peace w/ A-Jax (see other thread). But if "new evidence" appears & he's out 6-8 weeks, #1 O will be very tough to replicate. Then we'll indeed be like the '75 Rams, with a stellar D and an inconsistent O.

Could be tough to replicate without a suspension. You just never know. I will trust this staff to be ready for anything leading up to the season. If that means covering for a suspended Alaric, we'll see how that works out. Could be a free agent. Could be in house.

Thx, PA -- I'm pretty high on MG, McD, & AD99 all added to our team. But being this vulnerable at LT really has me rattled. I'll go get my rose colored glasses & brb :D

The magic numbers are 73 and 6.

73 is 1 better than the most sacks by a defense (1984 Bears).

6 is 1 better than the most shutouts by a defense since the merger (1976 Pittsburgh Steelers).

Nothing like wiping out a couple of records that are 42 and 50 years old.

And actually the 1975 Rams defense was stellar. 135 points allowed; 15 TDs 10 FGs; 9.6 PPG. Good enough for a 12-2 record but 30 PPG allowed in the postseason.

With the #1 offense and the acquisitions of Garrett, McDuffie and Watson, it gives the Rams a decent chance to get near those numbers. If AD returned, I think the chance would jump from decent to excellent.
And those bears did it in 16 games, nuts actually. Teams did not pass as much back then.
The best defense of the 70s was the Rams, not the Steelers like so many think.

Regardless of how you feel about him the guy is very plugged in. This is no big deal, even Mark Schlareth said it's a done deal. "Worst kept secret" in League circles.
I don't feel any kind of "way" about him, just never seen him scoop anything. Like I said, I hope it's true.

I hope the league understands suspending Jackson would endanger a healthy season for Matthew effing Stafford.

Plus, it would endanger and possibly affect the TV ratings for the NFL's seven primetime LA Rams games. For the NFL- it's all about the money.

How would Rex fucking Ryan be scooping this?? Hope it's true but I don't see anything else about it.
He loves putting a foot in his mouth, so anything's possible. He will look like a heal if this doesn't pan out. I like that he is always putting a toe in the water when reporting and is not caught flat footed.
