Would be nice to drive/score TD on first offensive drive. The Rams offense needs to play ahead (or at least even) with Eagles offense. Eagles get ahead and they with ground and pound. Their run game actually improves in the 2nd half as their OL/Saquan are seasoned vets with plenty of strength and endurance.
And in case I don’t say it enough - Fuck that dirt bag Siriani!!
Hey, when we lose the toss (and the Eagles fans act like they won the SB), let's go down and score! The Eagles will instantly have to play catch up.

To be fair to Limmer I do not believe that was a legitimate call. It seemed that the play was still ongoing and I was unable to determine whether the whistle had blown from the TV broadcast. But, agreed, we need to limit penalties, particularly dumb ones.
I haven’t seen anybody else comment on that play. That was such bullshit… literally the play is ongoing with the whistle just being blown and they called it.

Have not seen many posts about the threat of Jalen Hurts' running and scrambling.

The Rams can certainly rush; and the Eagles absolutely have a top-tier O-Line. Imprtant match-up. However, the Rams often let all four rushers (Young, Turner, Verse and Fiske) go after the quarterback; and, many times, there is not much contain on the QB.

Mobile quarterbacks can really take advantage of that; and, in my opinion, the lack of athelticism of the Rams' off-ball-Linebackers can be exploited in those situations.

A lack of contain with the pass rush can result in a 5-10 yard gain from a mobile quarterback.
A lack of athleticism from the off-ball-LBs can turn those plays into 20+ yards from a mobile QB.

I can see Hurts rushing for 75+ yards, extending drives and that being a major factor. Hope I am wrong.
Did you see the GB game last week? Hurts is clearly hurt.

Run blitz the A and B gaps with the LBs and have a plan for contain.

I think stopping there TE on 3rd down is the real concern.

I did; and I hope you are right that Hurts is physically compromised, and does not impact the game with his running and scrambling.

Also think the Packers have really athletic and talented off-ball-LBs with Walker and Cooper.

Hurts is a resourceful bastid. Gonna need to bully him. No matter how we slice this one the defensive front has to dominate.

I think we go with a heavy box and try to stop Saquon first. Make Hurts beat you with his arm. Last week, our secondary proved that they can man up on guys and if the weather is a factor that will make it harder for Hurts. The problem with playing man coverage is that Hurts is a much bigger threat to scramble than Darnold and that’s where we can get in trouble. It’ll be an interesting chess match for Shula for sure. I just hope we can make more plays than they do.

Yeah, fingers crossed. Hopefully Lake has the game of his life!

Philly doesn't rely on the passing game as much as others. Even in good conditions. Hurts has not played as well since the concussion. Its pretty simple. Stop the run. Yeah, its easier said than done. But if they find a way I think they win. They will have to take chances and move more guys in the box. If Barkley breaks through that front he'll be off to the races. So they also have to be disciplined and maintain gap integrity. Don't over pursue. I'm sure McVay and Shula have a plan. We'll see if it works.

Single cover their WRs and make Hurts actually throw the ball.
Treat him exclusively as a running back and keep after him.
Load the box with 8 or 9 guys and maintain gap discipline.
Not sure we have the horses to succeed at that, but it should be the plan.

He was a little rusty from not playing a couple weeks but I didn’t think he showed any signs of being hurt? He ran the ball a bunch of times

He looked like a different version of himself. Everything he was doing looked like there was a reluctance to get hit. And he wasn`t accelerating though holes like he normally would.

The Eagles will look to establish the run again, which was highly effective against the Rams in their previous matchup. The team rushed for 314 yards, led by Barkley’s 255 yards were the ninth-most in a single game in NFL history. Barkley also had two touchdowns, both of which were over 70 yards. Barkley amassed 191 yards before contact according to Pro Football Reference, highlighting the offensive line’s blocking and his vision and cutback ability. Since that game, the Rams have improved their run defense, allowing an average of 104.1 rushing yards per game, including 106 yards against the Vikings. To avoid a repeat performance, the Rams may stack the box to limit Barkley’s impact.

Sadly Stafford is 1-8 in snow games, with a 54.6 completion %, 11 interceptions and a 76.0 passer rating. :bigcry:

Personally, I'm most concerned about the snow (both wet & dry) coupled with Staffords past performances in snow. IMO, stacking the box and forcing Hurts to beat them vs the pass seems like the best strategy (today).

Lots of good answers here I think. The best D is a good O. Stop Saquon from repeating his two jailbreaks from last time and the game is a lot closer. Solid tackling and lane discipline. Force Hurts to beat us through the air.

I saw the highlight video of the snow game from 2013 Eagle-Lions. Stafford didn't do great (5 fumbles), but not all on him. At least he has some weather experience like this now. Passing game could be affected by the weather, and that probably doesn't help us. Hold on to the ball Kyren!
Yup, he's experienced in snow alright...with a 1-8 record :>(

Yes, lets start our offense like we did last week. Score on the first drive and set the tone.

The first of several bad calls/non calls that game. That was a legit block since the runner was not ruled down.

Luckily, if the NFL tells refs to favor any team in this game, you'd have to think it will be the Rams. What a great story for the NFL to have the NFC Championship in the greatest stadium on the planet in a city that has been suffering so much. There is much more of a good feel story line with the LAR/WAS matchup IMO.

That said, it would be the first time the refs have favored us, seemingly ever. (yeah, I know it was a facemask)
