I know a lot of fans love Kyren.
I respect the passion, effort and toughness with which he plays, but having an elite RB would really help.
Remember the offense with a healthy Gurley?
Imagine the offense with a Gibbs?
PFF rated the Ram OL the 5th best run blocking unit for 2024, but our backs were rated 22nd.

Here's how PFF rated Ram RBs for 2024:

What does everyone think?

RBs are good enough go with what we've got?
Try to add some more "explosive" RBs?
Add a 3rd down back with better pass receiving skills?
Give more carries to Corum/Rivers and see what we have?

An absolute weapon of a RB definitely would take this offense into a higher gear, but Kyren is very good, as is Corum behind him. This roster has enough holes that I don't think we can spend our 1st round pick on a running back. And that is generally where you are going to have to take a RB of the calibre you are seeking with game-breaking speed and explosiveness - Barkley, Gurley, Gibbs... those guys were all 1st rounders. Every time I actually watch the Falcons I am amazed by how Bijan Robinson jumps off the screen and how good he would look in horns instead of wasting away in Atlanta. Same thing. A top 10 pick.

I think Kyren is a major reason why the Rams are a playoff team the last two years. They want to reduce his very heavy workload, add more balance and diversity in their run game next year, I'm all for it. But I also expect them to make a good faith effort to keep him in horns beyond 2025. He's just 24 and probably more tread on those tires.

You know, PFF didn't always give good grades to Todd Gurley either.

I think about this a lot. Kyren leaves a lot of meat on the bone but he's a perfect fit for Mcvay. So the Rams either need to add explosion to the receiving room and keep kyren as the starter or grab one of the many premier backs in this class. But if you watch kyren snap for snap there are so many good runs where you can see a faster back would've taken it to the house.

That's what I see as well.

Many times there's a "30+ yard hole" and it turns into 5-15 yards.
Defenses know this as well and "cheat" accordingly.
It's not like they're putting "8 in the box" to stop our RBs.
A bigger threat at RB would open up things for others on offense.

IMO, Kyren and Corum are more power backs. The Rams need a quick hitter with home run potential like how Ezekiel Elliot had Tony Pollard behind him for the cowgirls at one time.

Yeah even Corum looks a like he can break bigger runs. But I do think you could add an elite deep threat and a tight end to this team and that would give the running game plenty more room.

I like the Puka and Williams type of player. Makes beating the more physical teams such as the Niners and Steelers easier.

However top priorities in the draft have to be explosive offensive skill players. WR/TE/RB. Right after CB.

I'd like to see a 6'2" 225-230 lb RB with blazing speed who has great hands and isn't afraid to blow somebody up on a blitz. Are any available in the upcoming draft?

If our upcoming draft is predicated on keeping KW, pick #1 needs to the best of either WR, CB or even TE that falls to us.

Back to back 15 TD seasons, only Gurley and Faulk have done that in horns, and neither did it 3 times in a row
Looking forward to seeing the Rams signing Kyren to a deserved extension

I've beat this drum plenty of times before but using PFF "grades" to make a point carries as much weight to me as using Madden ratings. They don't know player responsibilities and some of their "grades" are so head-scratching you have to wonder if they know football at all. For one, if anyone has actually watched Kyren in pass protection you'll know his PFF "grade" in that area is complete BS.

With context this is worth a discussion, but I think part of finding Kyren's value comes with looking at the instability in the years following Gurley. It's easy to find a RB that can run a 4.3, it's not easy to find one that also has Kyren's vision, balance, instincts, physicality, and short area quickness.

Kyren hasn't been breaking the big runs and his YPC suffers but all he does is move the chains and score TDs. We really wanna risk losing that to potentially mine more fool's gold like Cam Akers/Darrell Henderson/Zach Evans?

This is a deep and talented HB draft. I'm all for drafting a HB this year. It doesn't hurt. But you're 100% right. Kyren is a top 10 player at his position. There's no reason to waste valuable resources trying to replace him. We have far bigger holes on this roster. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

1. there’s not Gurley in this draft.

2. we had more explosive players at the WR position.

Say what you will about their talents, but defenses couldn’t stack the box with Cooks or Watkins ready to go deep. My bet is if we had a true deep threat, Kyren does even better. Yes, I would take a Gurley over him, but if those grew on trees everybody would have one

You're right that we definitely need more explosiveness in the offense!

But I gotta call BS on the "takes 30+ yard holes and turns them into 5-15 yards." It's more common with his elite vision that he's taking a 1 yard hold and turning it into 5 yards. Sure, occasionally he's caught from behind when he had a chance to house it but the flip side where he's creating yardage when not much is there is much more common.

Lately, defenses have been putting 8 in the box and frequently run blitzing for several purposes: to stop our RBs, gum up the middle of the field to stop our non-explosive WRs, and get quick pressure on Stafford. More explosiveness at WR, TE, or RB would solve this.

1. Kyren and Blake are the same type of back with scary similar similarities.

2. Next year (2025)will more than likely be Kyrens last year as a Ram as his contract runs out.

3. We need a Achane homerun type of back added ( praying we add Blake’s Michigan running mate Donovan “ The Don” Edward late this draft) and/or we need a bruiser ( Martinez from Miami) think Derrick Henry type of back.

4. Excited to see what we do as this is Rivers last year with us and probably Cody’s last one to.

Was really looking forward to seeing corum play in the playoffs but now accident or not ( broken arm)is he going to be durable for us? Pucka as well. Like to see us have a better injury record. Tough league.
