I keep seeing Odell’s quotes claiming that if he hadn’t been injured in the Super Bowl, then he would have had 200 yards receiving and been MVP in a dominant win over the Bengals.

1. The Bengals surely would have changed their coverages after the first quarter to put more pressure on Odell.

2. It’s all speculative BS

3. Does anyone on the planet, aside from Odell, believe that if Kupp had gone down with a knee injury in the first quarter, that Odell could have carried the team to victory as the only legitimate receiving threat?

4. He needs to just STFU and give Kupp the credit that he deserves.

Rant off:

Tyler Boyd seems tired of it, too. :laugh3:

No we didn't. He played in that game. He was a huge factor in our offense in the first half and we were leading in that first half. We didn't win without him we won with him.

As I've been told many times that's what we do around here btw
Speculate

And there are a lot of people around here that speculate he was a deciding factor in our win. And we also speculate he would have continued to be a big factor the remainder of the game. His numbers probably are high but that doesn't change the fact that he was great for us in that game before he got hurt.

It might not be enough for you but I can only speak for myself and that earns him my respect. Please keep talking your talk Odell and thank you for your help in us winning a Lombardi in our magnificent stadium no less.
I think we walk all over them with OBJ playing 60 minutes....but
Two catches each quarter
52 yards each quarter
1 touch down each quarter

Adds up very well actually.
That math ain't right.

OBJ
1st quarter: 1 rec for 17 yards (TD)
2nd quarter: 1 rec for 35 yards

Maybe he'd have had 4 for 104, 2 TDs, which ain't too bad but it's a far cry from 52 yards and a TD each quarter and an even further cry from 250 yards and MVP.

I'd wager, had he not been injured it would have been hard to give MVP to either he or Kupp as their numbers might have been very close, so either Stafford or Donald get it.

Boyd is poking the bear. Didn’t he get away with arguably the most blatant pass interference play I. The history of the Super Bowl (if not the history of NFL playoffs). I give him credit he did it to keep Ramsey from likely intercepting the pass. It was a desperation move to avoid a turnover. I know Boyd knows exactly what he did, why he did it snd is likely also astounded he got away with that bush backyard football play.

If you’re doing math do it correctly. OBJ got hurt with less than 4 minutes left in the half. He didn’t produce 50 yards and a TD in one quarter. OBJ was a great weapon But let’s not crown his ass as on his way to the best performance in Super Bowl history based off 50 yards and a TD in 26 minutes of play.
I was quoting somebody who said he did what he did in one quarter. Hence how I got what I got. Again I'm not the one who was triggered by OBJ making comments just pointing out he was a huge factor for us in the game and if he didn't get hurt we don't know what would have happened in the MVP voting. But I do feel he affected the game in a large way and if he kept on playing could have kept affecting the game that way.

Not crowning him or his ass with anything. Also not gonna shit on a guy for answering a question in a podcast, and like any NFL player especially one at a position well known for it's diva persona's, he glorified his impact. It's the nature of athletes like him to do it and it's surprising anybody didn't see something like this coming from him. People should probably just ignore him and likely any players comments outside of the game.

Check out how McVay talks about Beckham starting around the 39:00 mark.

I’m not convinced. He also said Allen and Noteboom are good players.

You can like Odell all you want. I think he’s a dick. I’ve been hearing since the Super Bowl how Odell would have been MVP. He wasn’t. He wasn’t close to it. There were still three quarters to go. It’s ridiculous to say and he’s been saying for over a year. All I hear is me me me me me.

So where does OBJ rank among WR divas all time? My all time #1 diva would be Terrell Owens. Is OBJ that bad? Hell my current #1 diva would be Stephon Diggs. Talked his way outta Minnesota and is gonna talk his way out of Buffalo. Who are some others. Michael Irvin? Andre Reed? Antonio Brown? He's more a crimimal than diva. Steve Smith? Randy Moss? Tyreek Hill? Brandon Marshall was a huge diva. DeSean Jackson! Keyshawn Johnson! Andre Rison! 3 of the biggest divas all time! Terry Glenn. Joe Horn. I wouldn't rank OBJ above many of those guys and more, as far as being a diva. There's a long history of WR divas but one thing they all have in common is they were good. Then you have guys like Ike, Marvin Harrison, Calvin Johnson, etc. who did their talking on the field, not in the media.

Nobody’s a bigger diva than Michael Thomas of the Saints.
