I still remember those huge disappointing games too, and the '69 playoff game at the old Met stadium, when we lost after being up 17-7 at the half. The game was much different back then.If the really tough losses in the really big games did not hurt so much, the fantastic victories in the really big games would not be nearly as special.
In order to fully appreciate and enjoy the Good, you have to experience and understand the Bad.
Consider the 2021 NFC Championship Game. Think how a life long Niners’ felt (and still feels) about their team’s 4th quarter collapse that cost them a trip to the Super Bowl. Then think about how a life long Rams’ fan cherishes that game.
I’m 65; and I still haven’t let go of the ‘74 and ‘76 Conference Championship losses in Minnesota. However, I have a dozen Amazing Memories of Rams’ victories in huge games.
It’s tough to win in the NFL.
Enjoy every win.
