After watching Goff last year, he looked like a deer in headlights to me. I thought he has zero chance of amounting to anything. I was so down being a Rams fan.
Today. I love the guy! He is awesome! Cannot believe the leader he has turned into. Mucho Respect for Jared Goff!

All I can say is patience (plus other interactions, social media opinions and yada yada shit) these days is an easy attitude influenced deflector of choice for whatever reasons involved. I've learned to give any individual whether family member, close friends or completely unrelated football players including coaches of my favorite team..... Time and for me a dedication to true patience. It would be one unreal life event to see true Rams fans unite again. The past is history tomorrow is a mystery it's all about enjoying the present.Sometimes the ending result doesn't meet stardard expectations. Hey that's ok. I'd choose united over divided everytime. I'm just strange. Definitely not a Saint by any means. (Yet yesterday was so rewarding).

I happen to agree with you. It is too soon to say anything other than:
* Goff has improved dramatically over last year
* Goff has displayed the potential to be a very good QB in the league
* Goff needs the other players around him to execute in order for him to succeed
* Goff needs the defense and special teams to do their part.
Yup... too soon... but the team is off to a damned good start in 2017... and he's certainly helped the cause so far!
I'm excited to see where this goes.... kinda glad it's early in the process... means there's possibly lots more good Rams football to watch!!

Same here KayJay.I loved what I saw of him at Cal.Aside from all the talent,I saw a kid who
got knocked down and never gave up. However,I felt, if fisher stayed it would be ruined.
He had all the tools,he just needed a teacher and some players around him.
Absolutely ecstatic when we landed McVay.I knew he would develop into a top qb
at that point.I just never imagined it would be so quick.
The beautiful part is,he is going to get a lot better as time goes on.

I have always thought Goff was the real deal at QB but very seldom do players, even really good ones, have the careers we hope or envision for them. I was overly optimistic about Jim Everett and Kurt Warner as well. With Warner's and Everett's early success during their prime years with the Rams I envisioned them both having much longer stints as top QB's while in horns but success for them as Rams was a fickle beast.
I think Goff has the ability (mentally and physically) to be one of the top 5 QB's of the next decade or more. If McVay has long-term success as a coach it will probably be with Goff as his QB.
Unfortunately as a backdrop to all of this I feel like the NFL may be entering a time period of possible decline so as the Rams ascend the NFL may continue to deteriorate.
