Quick note: The Inappropriate button actually IS a negative mark on someone's posting history. I realize inside of this thread it is just being funny but I've removed them from everyone's posts and encourage yawlz not to use that particular button unless a post violates the spirit or rules of the board. I won't mention any names but @Rmfnlt it ain't funny man!

We also use the inappropriate to get rid of offending posts. If a post gets 3, it is deleted. We've brought it up before but this is just a bit of a reminder.

Oh.... and giving a moderator an inappropriate is generally (hell... ALWAYS) viewed by us as a red flag. Just a little FYI to anyone ready to get cute.

Bottom line is that we do what we can around here to explain things and @CGI_Ram does a tremendous job keeping this site at the leading edge. My suggestion to all is that if someone gives you a "different opinion" or "chill" and doesn't explain it, feel free to ask them politely, or just move on. If an "Inappropriate" is used, feel free to message one of the mods and we will look into it. Most of the time, we have deleted the Inappropriate rating as it is generally a mistake or just not an appropriate rating of the post.

Most important is the inappropriate button. As @RamFan503 said, if it’s hit 3 times it hides the post. It helps us to have members weed out the stuff that does not belong here. 3 members agreeing to hit that button is a pretty good indicator.

i'm not sure if your software allows it but maybe if someone presses the chill or inappropriate rating an "are you sure?" window could pop up. if they are sure they can ok but if it was a mistake they could cancel it. even if they don't see it and keep scrolling the rating doesn't show because they didn't ok it.

It's totally acceptable to question a rating.

Does it work for the common rabble around here? I thought that was just something we could do. Man... I feel so less privileged now.
