I don't think the Rams do much on the offensive line.

Anchrum did play a few snaps on offense, and to be fair to him, he didn't look too out of place. He's definitely in the mix at almost every position (don't know if he could play center, but he's certainly intelligent and can play everywhere else). And if we get Chandler Brewer back, we have another player who can play a multitude of positions.

I agree with drafting two offensive linemen, but I also subscribe to the Corbett-at-center option.
Stop poking holes in my old man theory. :ROFLMAO:
Anchrum apparently played all the line positions at one time or another at Clemson. His arms aren't particularly long which makes him a somewhat unlikely candidate to play tackle. But I would like to see if he can play center. He's 6' 1 1/2" or so and 315 lbs -- that should work. Maybe he and Corbett can compete for the job.

Hell of a thread. Been a while since I’ve read an informative thread such as this one from so many people regardless of their opinions and ideas.

Personally, I don’t see us making any significant changes on the O-Line outside of somebody falling into our lap (great value) which is a steady to significant upgrade. (FA or draft)

I think the front office will see the Center position as “ can wait to be addressed” as always.

They’ll let Blythe walk

LT Whitworth/Noteboom/Anchrum
LG Edwards/ FA/Draft/UFA/Anchrum
C Corbett UFA/Draft/FA
RG Evans/Anchrum/UFA/Draft
RT Havenstein/Noteboom/Anchrum

I think with the bind salary cap this is more our direction as evidenced from us doing practically nothing to our OL room.

OLB,MLB, WR (speed), TE, CB is where our primary resources will be spent at. Very curious to see next month which way we go! :)

The cap will affect ALL teams. After the first wave of highly compensated FAs there will be some very talented OL players at reasonable $$$. I’d like the Rams to pick up a starter for the interior OL to strengthen pass protection.

Yes IF a LT prospect is available they are sure to look hard @ them.

That cap hit (near $24 mil.) the next 2 seasons for a 40 yr old @ LT is sure to get a lot of  attention by Demoff & Snead. The fact that LT Joe Noteboom is in his last season under contract will too. Kromer sure does not have a need for any RT's, nor LG's or RG's. If all of the OL'ers remain.

McVay will not start a rookie center so when a center is drafted, either very late 2nd day or early 3rd day it will be for the purpose to be groomed for the 2022 season when centers Corbett, Allen & Shelton will be UFA's. But you know an OC will be drafted maybe even two.

Rams must replace ER/OLBer Floyd & CB Troy Hill early in the draft. That can not be avoided.

What about a speed burning PR guy.New special teams coach sort said that was what was on his list.We all know a WR is needed early.

I still think they tag Floyd. Somehow.

Once that happens we're in pretty good shape. Biggest need is Center which they can get in round 2 or 3. If they get lucky with an LT type dropping take him. Or if it's a good edge fit take him. Same with wideout if there's speed who can separate run to the podium.

I am so fucking stoked for 2021 man. So stoked.

The Rams need a center because Austin Blythe is a FA & not worth bringing back at a certain price. So is it Coleman Shelton or Brian Allen.Posters can say they know, but what we do know is Brian Allen started 2 years ago with no experience
And was hurt & beat out.No matter how bad we may think he is he still has another season on his contract.

Now if you look at The Rams roster,I can’t see any of The Offensive Lineman getting cut.Demby was also resigned & was not even on the roster.

@BonifayRam much of McVay's insistence on experience at Center has been due to our QB. Making it easier on him. With a vet coming in it would not surprise me if they go that route. I really like this group up top in the draft. :cheers2:

I wouldn’t say The Rams won’t draft a Center & maybe your point is valid. Not sure Brian Allen is going to get cut.I was am not a Fan of his.I could say bad things about him,but refuses to give up on him.The Rams have been about growth & building players within.
Then again Stafford is the guy,but from your point The Rams really don’t need a smart center.Either way there are a lot of bodies.McSnead may go the Edwards & Evans way.
I would say a short NCAA season & no preseason only makes things more interesting.Who starts the preseason?? —

If The Rams are all in they just stay pay up front.I’ll continue to say Brian Allen is the starting Center.

Your right on with draft picks.I’d say MLB is on the roster. Then again with the 2nd rd pick The Rams trade back or go for best available.

A Speed WR might be a position The Rams actually trade up for.Mcvay likes having that type of player.Examples.Trading for Watson & Cooks.Jefferson is a upgrade Reynolds type.

Dickerson is the O’line coach with The Hags. The Rams roster could be poached by Waldron?

Listing to Austin Blythe it’s a hard call to believe Anchrum & Corbett would be moved to Center.

Austin Corbett is going into a contract year.He had a couple poor games before the Playoffs.I can’t see him not starting at RG though. He is The Best RG on The Rams

Won’t happen unless Havenstien is traded. Noteboom started a LG for the 2nd season.Bobby Evans finished as The Rams starting LG.David Edwards was solid & finished the 2019 as The Rams RG. Demby just got resigned again.
My question is who are The Rams going to CUT ??? You have to subtract before you can add.Brewer is coming back & Demby resigned.
The fear is 2022 & The Rams future past 2021.When players are playing for a contract they tend to play better & harder.

Call me crazy, but I thought Blythe played far better at RG. I was kind of surprised not to see him and Corbett swapped last year. I see Corbett as an upgrade to Blythe at C.... But obviously the coaches don't.

I don't think Allen has the sand to play C. He seemed light in the seat when he was in there. Looked like he got driven back almost every snap.... Including runs!! Kinda like Blythe....lolz.

Man if we re-sign Blythe this forum will meltdown
When i did pay attention to Blythe he sure tries hard and is probably successful a majority of the time but doesn’t have the physicality or athleticism to compete against the better DLinemen. And I don’t see ever able to get downfield and help of run plays. She seems limited to his own little circle. To me he’s a grade C/C- OC. sure would be nice to bring on a B+ player.
