He's like Metcalf in that he's a big freak athlete who is going to be limited in his usage and much of his value is projection. Metcalf wasn't a fluid wideout who can run a full route tree, Sadiq in the same sense won't be able to carry an offensive throughput over the middle as a chain mover. He'll be the same type of player, where you hope for the big play while other players move the chains.
Stowers will quickly settle in for the lucky team who drafts him and become a key chain mover who can also stretch the field. Five years from now he'll be a big name in the league. Sadiq I am not so sure about. Quite risky I think, unless you want to use him as a backfield piece and maybe in a FB type role but would he be all in on that.

I think if we grab him - in an ideal world he would play the nickel/safety role that Lake is in. I guess you could move Lake back to safety full time and maybe try to move Kinchens but I'm suspicious of Lake in anything but split-safety/nickel whereas Kinchens can handle a little more single high (though he's not amazing at it).
I think keeping Downs at split-safety would be a waste of the talent and the pick.

The more I look into them, Stowers in the 2nd is far better value then Sadiq in the 1st. If we went D in the 1st, I'd be pretty happy with Stowers in the 2nd. Doubt he makes it to end of 2nd however.
Agreed he won't make it to us in round 2. People acting like Sadiq's workout makes him a top ten pick. Meanwhile Stowers was close to him in his workout and he's a better prospect in the slot pass catching role that makes the Rams offense move, and yet he's a round 2 pick.
I just don't agree with so many of the media takes this year.
I could be completely wrong about his abilities. I can admit that I might be a tad biased against him as a QB who hasn't done anything prior to this year.
However, there is another thing that really doesn't want me to take him before the 6th round. His injury history is pretty awful. I saw a post a day or two ago that showed his injury history and I really don't want to take a chance on him.
Yeah, I think quality pass catchers in general could be had in rds 2 & 3. So could go with true BPA at another position at 13 or after a trade down from 13.
I still want a CB/WR combo in the 1st and 2nd then ILB/OL/DT
If we could somehow get 5 picks in the first 3 rounds and the Rams actually made those selections - I would be in heaven. But alas the best we can do is possibly 4 picks. And even then - the Rams could go on a completely different route and pick other positions.

No, he’s not tall for a TE. He’s more of a hybrid TE/WR, which makes better for game planning against opponents and make it unpredictable.
The only thing he’s might be physically similar in playing style is DK Metcalf. I might be wrong.

The fact that Stowers is being looked at as a WR by multiple teams alone tells me that he runs a better route tree than Sadiq in their eyes. The fact that Stowers essentially outproduced Sadiq in yardage but half his TD's, I'd lean more towards drafting him over Sadiq any day as we wouldn't have to use a 1st rd pick to do so. Better value imo
Just turn on the film. Stowers is a McVay weapon. Sadiq is not. He may be down the road, but those types of picks don't seem to work for him.
Also Stowers is an insane athlete. Again he ran a faster 40 than Tate.
I'm fairly certain a 15th-rated QB would be a 1st or 2nd-round pick in any draft.
Generally speaking, 6th round QBs are for backups and PS fodder.

In a way, you're right in that they both have a limited route tree in general and Sadiq will have a limited route tree against zone like Metcalf - at least initially.
I like him but I think the guys thinking he's a jack-of-all trades will be disappointed. There are a number of things he can't do right now and may never be able to do. That being said, he's a guy who could end up being an Evan Engram with a better ability to block and probably be able to run some stuff our of the backfield which adds to his versatility.
Could it also be because he doesn't block worth a darn?
That's the missing element that's often ignored.
Stowers is a big slot WR.
Sadiq blocks his arse off making him a potential slot WR, TE, FB, H-Back.
That's the difference.
Two different types of players.
The better value proposition would be Sadiq in the 1st round vs. Georgia TE Oscar Delp in round 2 or 3.

I might be in the minority (maybe 40-60) here but I worry that Tyson will be too large an injury risk for us. Small sample size but hamstrings and soft tissue injuries are volatile.
I think he has the most upside of the top 3 WRs though. If the medical staff are happy with what they see then I’ll be comfortable with the pick
