I would think McVay would want to potentially have a home playoff game at some point. I have to believe he'll play all available starters the next two games. A loss tonight could be devastating. I hope our Defense goes into playoff mode starting tonight and we obliterate the falcons on national TV. We'll know who won the NFC West before we take the field against the cards next Sunday. We can send either the whiners or hawks to the 6th seed and a date in Philly the following week. I don't see McVay resting any starters. Very unlikely either the hawks or whiners beat Philly in Philly so they can eliminate one of those teams for us. That's our best path at this point. Of course if Philly ends up the 2nd seed they host the pack, then the hawks or 9ers head to the bears.
Philly beats the pack, either the hawks or 9ers will beat the bears, we beat the Bucs/panthers. We would go to Philly and the 9ers/hawks square off. If we beat Philly we could potentially host the Championship Game.
Yes, would love for the whiners or the shecocks to go to philly and beat each other up. This would eliminate one of the 3 best opponents we could play in the 2nd round. So worth it to get the 5 seed.
They do. But have to beat Az and Sea to beat SF
Going to be tough to root for either team to win that game. Hope they bloody each other.

week 18 would be meaningless if Rams lose tonight and SF wins Saturday night. Rams would be locked into 6 seed. Since Rams play Sunday, they’ll know if this plays out.

When San Fran loses next week, they'll be 12-5 including 4-2 in division, 9-2 in conference. Rams losses have all been in conference, so they'd need 13 wins to avoid tie break. Or am I seeing this wrong?

Division ties broken by head to head followed by division record followed by common opponents. Rams have better common opponent record against Seattle and SF.

Conf record is for tiebreakers between teams in separate divisions.

Beat Atlanta.

Rest Stafford, Nacua, Jackson, Williams, Young, Fiske, Ford vs. Cardinals (note some are due to nagging injuries).

Maybe I'm wrong, but I really believe that Rams should beat Arizona at home even with backups.

If anything, this Rams team should be Pissed as hell. They should come out an destroy Falcons, and Cards the next two weeks. It shouldnt even be Close. If we Struggle, we have bigger problems than that. Sea and 9ers both Destroy Teams Like Panthers, and Falcons.

I dont want to hear fucking excuses of our Starters are hurt bullshit. Philly does it, Sea does it , Fucking 9ers are on 4th stringers at some points.

Not what i said. I said if they lose tonight they can still get 5 seed by beating Arizona AND Seattle beating San Francisco.
Pretty sure they lose a tie breaker with San Fran. With a San Fran loss to Seattle and a Rams win vs Arizona, they have same divisional record but San Fran way better conference record
So back to square 1 that they really should win tonight

Realistically, they should easily beat both even with Garoppolo at QB, but would love Stafford to cement his season with a strong finish

The next tie breaker after Division record is Common Games, not Conference record. Advantage Rams.

......the difference between playing at Philadelphia/Chicago vs playing at Carolina/Tampa Bay is HUMONGOUS

Because of weather or quality of opponent?
I don't think the Rams fear any opponent. Their losses are on themselves.

As far as weather:
Mother Nature tends to do whatever the fuck she wants. No way to predict which city will have the best game day weather. All are open air stadiums.

Charlotte has highest probability of Cold and Wet.
Philly/Chicago both have higher probability of Cold and Dry.
Tampa would obviously be first choice for a game not entirely fucked over by the weather. Could be wet -- sure, but low likelihood of cold and wet.

I grew up in Alaska and as far as winter sports go, I'll take Cold and Dry over Cold and Wet any day. When you are drenched to the bone in cold weather the body shuts down.

At this point, I'm tired of rooting for scenarios. Yesterday's outcomes ended the regular season for me.

The Rams curb stomping every team they face in the post season is the last scenario I'm rooting for going forward this year.

I appreciate that fans are trying to hype tonight's game as being "meaningful"... but I just don't buy it.

I want a fully healthy team in the playoffs that can get us 4 wins above and beyond all the other "tasty" items on the menu right now.

I would play the starters at least some versus Atlanta. And if we start to put the game out of each, perhaps sub in the rest of the team. Same thing versus the Cardinals, however, I would lean towards playing the starters less versus them.

How many games in a row can this team win as configured? Anyone think they can go unbeaten all the way to the superbowl? That's the fly in the ointment. Lose the next 1 or two or win out and go to the playoffs and stay unbeaten. Can this team, do it?

Can they? Yes! Will they? Who knows!

Actually a loss to Atlanta drops them from 5 vs TB/Carolina to 6th vs Philly or Chicago. And impacts their draft pick via ATL Win out and they are the 5 seed.
my bad...I think they updated the algorithms after I posted that...I fully expect the Shitters to beat the Hags Saturday so we will need to win out to grab the 5 seed....IF for some reason Hags take care of business we'll only need the Cruds W...
