Non homer here, but it doesn't "look" like he hit full speed their. I could be wrong

Look at him as he is coming up on the 40 yard line.

He hits the jets to get the cushion to stroll into the end zone.

He bursts away.

He is faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall defenders in a single bound. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No!, it's the Gurley Express!, coming soon to a video outlet near you!!!

I also think his size benefits him because the pads don't slow him down as much as other guys that are smaller.
This brings up a good point, I wish they would run, throw and catch in pass at the combine . Would be alot more accurate for recruiting

He is deceptively fast as (at least to these eyes) he does not appear to be moving that fast . . . probably because he is a bit if a long strider in the open field. Yet he finds angles through defenders and accelerates to the point they often cannot even touch him. Keep in mind that he also accomplishes this while encumbered with football padding and will often do these things late in games when he is supposedly tired---a testament to the strength, stamina, and sheer force of will he possesses whenever he especially strives for pay dirt.
Reminds me of another Ram (HOF) RB. Dickerson would look like he was out for a jog as he blew by fools. Long stride, long speed and power. Very similar backs IMO....

Dickerson also ran upright, which made him really look like he wasn't giving his all---even when he was going all out.

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley drops new commercial with Gatorade
Todd thinks Todd is doing fine. But Todd thinks Todd could do more. Oh, Todd...

Good, but it’s #3 on the power rankings for commercials for Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley.

#2 still goes to the Jolly Ranchers commercial from his rookie year:

If Todd and the Rams continue to have the kind of success they did in 2017 in racking up stats and making the playoffs, I think we’ll see even more endorsements to come.

(Do not suggest that Carl’s Jr. ad with the CGI hamburger deserves to be ranked at all.)

You are 100% correct..........the weight of the helmet and all the other equipment is about 20 pounds. If you have significant lower body strength like Gurley it won't slow you down as much as someone more slender.

Dudes that skip leg day can't keep up.
