The offense slowed down the last few games, was totally shut down by the bears and Pats.
This is one of the most amazing turnarounds ever no doubt, but the ram offense hasn’t been great against the big boys. Maybe Kupp makes a difference, we’ll have to see.
Yes it slowed down, but I also think that we had some key injuries too (Kupp, Talib, Gurley, Brown) and I'm not sure you can say the O hasn't been great against the big boys we had a 13-3 season, we beat the Chiefs, Saints & Vikings. The Bears tore us apart, but I honestly think they had the weather on their side also
Did he really say that? That's almost awesome if he did ... (I have to say "almost" because I still want to hate Belichek
)
Those were their exact words - and it's awesome because it is Bellicheck, it's also been widely reported that he texts McVay after every Ram game, seriously the man is passing the baton...
sometime!
I know there are a lot of Bellicheck and Brady hater on here, but I can only hold respect for those guys AND I hope that McVay and Goff build the same sort of partnership and bond to create the same sort of dynasty.
I consider this season to be a success... but history does not cares who "makes" the superbowl (see how the Buffalo Bills organization is viewed historically)
Also the 2nd half of the season we were not the same explosive team - saying we need to improve, adapt and figure somethings out is not an overreaction - it's the name of the game in the NFL.
Our O had a double focus to stat the season - Gurley and Kupp, they were the go-to guys, it was obvious that losing Kupp (and Brown & Talib) derailed the Rams a bit, but we pulled it together, and I believe Gurley was/is hurt, he definitely wasn't as sharp on his cutbacks etc towards the end of the season. And I'd say we did adapt several times throught the season brining in CJ changed the team 360 into a smash mouth attack, there were some games where we we airing it out to Woods and Cooks, others we were pounding the rock, and others the TE's were the core targets. And there have been sever occasions when McVay has done some dramatic half time adjustments.
There are times where you just have to admit that the other team were better. The difference in that SB game was the TD catch to woods and the pass to Gronk for the go-ahead TD.
