Fix what? going 13-3 and reaching the SB within a 2 year period... only losing to the Dark Overlord and the GOAT QB in one of the greatest defensive exhibitions I have seen for a very long time (on both sides) - we had a banged up Gurley (don't try telling me he wasn't you scamp McVay) and an injured Kupp (Edelman 2.0)

I think Bellichick said it best at the game when Sean McVay told him "...you’re the best, man." his response was "crap, you’re taking over, buddy."

erm am I missing something here?

I consider this season to be a success... but history does not cares who "makes" the superbowl (see how the Buffalo Bills organization is viewed historically)

Also the 2nd half of the season we were not the same explosive team - saying we need to improve, adapt and figure somethings out is not an overreaction - it's the name of the game in the NFL.

I can’t blame the refs for this loss.

We were outcoached, outschemed, and outplayed while on O.

The End.

Don't blame them the refs for the loss. Blame them for their part in it. You certainly can't credit them for calling a fair and balanced game because they definitely did not.

I blame McVay and credit Belichick for us being outcoached on offense. I blame our line for playing poorly and I blame Jared for missing open recievers and I blame Cooks and Reynolds for not finding a way to make a tough catch.
And I blame the refs for screwing us when the line did block, when McVay did give us a good play and when Gurley was able to do something. Or for not calling PI when they interfered with Brandin on throw Jared DID make.

Without some of those bad calls, its a different game, different stat line, different outlook.

No, the refs didnt steal a win from us, they just called a very opponent friendly game that had a part in our loss.

This is me being real about it here so I dont talk about it in the world and be a Saints fan.

Last I checked; even Bellichick has lost a Super Bowl. More than 1.

The NFL is hard.

Not trying to be a dick.. but are you really comparing McVay with those two coaches?

A dude who has coached two years is "an all time great?"

I mean Mike Martz was 24-8 same record as McVay in his 1st two years.

I have faith in McVay... but..

No... I think he is saying even the all-time greats have not done what McVay has... so not a lot to complain about.

He had a bad day. It happens. He will learn from this and be better as will Goff.

Far more worried about Goff then McVay. Not that he coached a good game, but there were opportunities and Goff made the least of them. That said, he's 24 and will only get better so I am not worried in reality.

I believe the lack of experiance can't be understated here.

That's a great point. Let's see if the pain is enough to make him change.

He's been hearing what a genius he is for so long that he's started buying into his own hype

This is the most ridiculous thing in this entire thread.

C'mon.

Definitely not blaming the loss solely on officials...But, I personally felt like that was the turning point in the game.

You just blamed the officials then LOL.

I don't want to blame the officials, but they made the difference in this Super Bowl. I guess they wanted to make up for the Saints' game, but that game was also called against us.

You blamed the officials too.

And why would a group of guys who didn't ref the Saints game feel a need to make up for something THEY DIDN'T EVEN DO???

I just watched the 1st Q, and if not for that BS call on Roby, we dominated the game that entire quarter.

Watch the 4th quarter too.

It's a 60 minute game and most games come down to the last handful of minutes.

The Saints got screwed over on 1 big play that may or may not have been completed. Their gripe was in not getting the penalty yards they felt entitled too.
The Rams were freaked over on every opportunity they had to build momentum.

This is simply not true. The Rams were not fucked over every time they were gaining momentum and the Saints didn't suffer one bad break from the refs.

That's a huge stretch.

That was the look in their eyes - not how do we get points against the Pats - instead it was "how are we supposed to do anything if the refs are going to punish us all game?"

You can't even see their eyes for like 90% of the game.

It's frustrating for us, but imagine how the team feels. They must be thinking, "How can we possibly win when we are playing against the refs?"

And what you are doing her is imagining..........this is in your imagination.

Do you really think the Rams, after having their asses handed to them on offense feel like the refs beat them?

No... I think he is saying even the all-time greats have not done what McVay has... so not a lot to complain about.

You are right, there isn't a lot of room to complain.

The issue wasn't the refs, the issue was McVay not adjusting until it was too late.

starting out 0-8 on 3rd downs should tell a playcaller that they need to change shit up. He waiting until the end of the game and by then it was too little too late.

Hopefully he learned from it this time.

I'm not blaming the refs, because the team definitely lost that game on offense, but I want to address this. They would want to make up for that for the same reason fans argue with other teams' fans, out get mad about the media. The same reason people in unions stand together even if they aren't personally the ones that aren't getting what they want. The same reason people get upset about attacks on any group they are a part of.

It's a brotherhood. People attacked some refs, so these refs could feel attacked too. Because it could be them next time (it practically is except we aren't a bunch of stupid pansies, whining about the calls that were/weren't made).

Those refs made some crappy calls, but the Rams lost the game for themselves. Just to reiterate my position on that.

Not totally true - that only applies to things that are moving that you don't want to move.

If it's the opposite, you need WD-40.

The offense slowed down the last few games, was totally shut down by the bears and Pats.
This is one of the most amazing turnarounds ever no doubt, but the ram offense hasn’t been great against the big boys. Maybe Kupp makes a difference, we’ll have to see.

Yes it slowed down, but I also think that we had some key injuries too (Kupp, Talib, Gurley, Brown) and I'm not sure you can say the O hasn't been great against the big boys we had a 13-3 season, we beat the Chiefs, Saints & Vikings. The Bears tore us apart, but I honestly think they had the weather on their side also ;)

Did he really say that? That's almost awesome if he did ... (I have to say "almost" because I still want to hate Belichek :ROFLMAO:)
Those were their exact words - and it's awesome because it is Bellicheck, it's also been widely reported that he texts McVay after every Ram game, seriously the man is passing the baton... sometime!

I know there are a lot of Bellicheck and Brady hater on here, but I can only hold respect for those guys AND I hope that McVay and Goff build the same sort of partnership and bond to create the same sort of dynasty.

Our O had a double focus to stat the season - Gurley and Kupp, they were the go-to guys, it was obvious that losing Kupp (and Brown & Talib) derailed the Rams a bit, but we pulled it together, and I believe Gurley was/is hurt, he definitely wasn't as sharp on his cutbacks etc towards the end of the season. And I'd say we did adapt several times throught the season brining in CJ changed the team 360 into a smash mouth attack, there were some games where we we airing it out to Woods and Cooks, others we were pounding the rock, and others the TE's were the core targets. And there have been sever occasions when McVay has done some dramatic half time adjustments.

There are times where you just have to admit that the other team were better. The difference in that SB game was the TD catch to woods and the pass to Gronk for the go-ahead TD.

I said Goff was on a Brees-like ascent. Before 2018 people used the same word you used, and now (before the super bowl, lol) and after 32 TDs and #2 offense in the NFL people mostly agree that Goff is ahead of where Brees was in year 3. So, likewise their are few in NFL history who have done what McVay has done (middling roster to NFL excellence).
I prognosticate, you don't, I get it. Tell me which coach, in NFL history, takes the Rams with lil Goff to the super bowl in the 2nd year. NOt Landry, not Knoll and not Shula.
