Maybe for once Andy needs to make his son take responsibility for his actions. Had he taught him that lesson years ago maybe this does not happen.

This guy is a grown adult, regardless of how his father may or may not have enabled him, he made these choices and is responsible.

Son is in his mid thirties. Andy Reid has no responsibility for his son’s/employee’s actions, nor should he. That includes employing him. Nepotism isn’t a crime. What a joke, some of this shit.

Two troubled kids is no coincidence. I'm not a solving his kid of responsibility, but they obviously were never taught it.

Britt Reid needs to spend a long time behind bars. I have no tolerance for drunken drivers. I have even less for those whose actions harm children.

Nepotism isnt a crime, but being complicit to one can be.
Britt Reid has a history of drug and alcohol offenses, and was clearly drinking in the team's facility. So they can pay him regardless of his work output, but if they are allowing him to get behind the wheel, they can be liable for his actions.

Allowing him to get behind wheel? That’s a stretch. No one knows the circumstances. Maybe he was drinking alone. Maybe in his truck. Who knows? The Chiefs aren’t responsible for a grown man’s poor decisions.

If he claims he was drinking at work they are.
Not sure why you arent seeing the forest thru the trees here. He isnt a grown man, he's a boy in a grown man's body who got a job only because of his father. He's already a 2 time loser, now facing strike 3. Anyone who's ever had a job knows who's got the drinking or drug problem at work, and when said person gets pinched, nobody is surprised.
And now a 5 year old girl is fighting for her life because this piece of shit getting behind the wheel after admittedly having 2-3 drinks.
You know who tells a cop they've only had 2-3 drinks? A person who's a had a lot more to drink than just 2 or 3

So I suppose your local bartender is not culpable either? I mean, I'm a grown man and should know when I've had too much!

Even if you want to argue this in legal terms, the fact that this happened after repeated behavior is simply tragic for all involved.

I remember my best friend's 18th birthday, driving down 101 Encino to Woodland Hills, completely hammered, both of us hanging out the car screaming at traffic as we happily swerved in and out of lanes. I think back on that night often and am ever-thankful I was lucky enough to make it home safely and didn't ruin other innocent families. I haven't been behind the wheel having had any more than 1 drink in the many decades since.

So I'm not passing judgement on the guy, I will leave that to more qualified authorities. I am just pointing out how the enablement may be the most tragic part of the tale.

After two years of Mahomes and the Chiefs dominating they were long overdue for a bad game and it came Sunday.

As for the accident I don't think Andy should lose his job but I can see this being a bad mark on his reputation. His son on the other hand has to live with what he did and that alone is apunishment. IMO he needs to spend a little time in prison maybe then he'll learn

.

Drink drivers don't give a fuck about anybody except themselves. That's why they get caught for it on multiple occasions.

It's a shame they're not the ones that die when they plow into another car.

My last comment on it, and the culpability of Andy and/or the team; A simple google search of "dangers of mixing alcohol and adderall" will show that it is completely irresponsible and dangerous to just mix the two. The thought of then attempting to drive under combining both is just completely asinine.
Surely his pops knows he's on the meds, and more than likely as an ex felon with a Rap sheet of drug related crimes, he'd likely be drug tested and the team aware as well.

Yea, no. He's already been in and out of prison on other charges. He's a waste of oxygen IMO.

I suppose we may see but I don't buy this one bit. If anything, my guess is that he and his behavior were being protected by his dad's position. If he left the facility after having "2 or 3 drinks" (yeah right), I don't buy for one second that no one knew he was doing this on a regular basis and then driving home or where ever.

And a little girl may pay with her life while a family is forever damaged while the organization remains silent and works to cover their asses. Sickening.
Sickening, yes.
Surprising, no.

His father may have no idea what meds he is or isn’t on.
A prescription in particular.
The guy is a drunk/addict or at least his behavior would be indicative of this.
Now, he probably should have been fired a long time ago, assuming this behavior is nothing new.

There's no chance Andy (or the team) isnt aware of his meds The dude went to prison over a drug issue and his other son died of a heroin overdose at the same time. The family history prior to those events was littered with drug use.

Andy Reid and the Chiefs need to do the right thing here. Make a public statement now, and come up with some cash to help this family out. I know they are going to sue, but they need to get out ahead and not look like the organization that kicks stuff under the rug. As soon as Britt is out of the hospital, he is gone, and I mean immediately. Reid and the Chiefs need to show no favoritism. This is horrible.

I've put myself in situations where I shouldn't have been more than once, and Britt has a long road to go down. However, hurting someone else and an entirely different group of people will always be uncalled for and horrific.
