gut stomped the Rams?

@CGI_Ram just posted a story about the problems the Buffalo Bills are having with star WR Stefon Diggs, and I found myself saying, "Good."
Why is that?

The Bills have a great team with a young, elite QB. They are an AFC team and so aren't natural rivals. I've heard that Buffalo fans are the best to opposing fans in their stadium. They have never won a Super Bowl and have taken the aura of lovable losers again with recent losses in the playoffs. The 90's version of the Bills went to three Super Bowls and never won, so this version of the Bills is even less successful.

So why do I "hate" them? The 31-10 score in SoFi was bad enough and could have been worse. It not only ended my dream of a repeat, it also crushed my belief that the Rams could do anything last year. It briefly caused me to question the team building that we did. Just a short time before, Von Miller and OBJ were celebrating their Super Bowl 56 rings. Before the Bills game, I really thought we had a chance to resign OBJ to play at some point in the season. Von had played the hard-to-get game with the Rams and let his Daddy lead him by the nose to Buffalo. Seeing Von celebrate after crushing our QB, his teammate in the Super Bowl, turned my love for him into something like hate in that moment. After the game, I rooted for every Buffalo loss. I didn't like Von getting hurt, but it gave me joy that he didn't get another ring with the Bills and probably will never get another one. WHy? Because the Bills are gonna Bills.

Then the question came to mind, Do I remember liking any team that destroyed them, after the fact? I can't think of ANY, but how about you? after voting, list the teams that you liked after beating the Rams like a rented mule....

When I was in Seattle I watched the SeaHawks. I didn't think of myself as a fan per se but they were the "hometown" team.

When I lived in San Diego it was the same as Seattle, only with the Chargers. The real problem was I hated the owner. But I knew a number of players and that is why I followed that team.

I grew up as a Ram fan as was my father. When they moved to St. Louis it broke his heart and in doing so it made me hate Frontiere. I still loved the team but in those days it was difficult to consistently follow the team. When Stan bought the team I then knew in my heart he would bring them home. When it was announced that the Rams were returning to LA, I went to Redondo Beach pier where my dad and I spent so many days as a father and son fishing together. I told my dad his team was returning home.

My only regret about the Super Bowl win was my dad wasn't here to see it. But my GF Maggie put my dad's picture on the end table in front of the TV for the game. I knew he was there when I toasted him at Kickoff with my Modelo. That is why that win will always be the most special of all the ones they are going to get in the future.

I think it was four (1990-1993).

There are other teams I respect but none I like enough to get over being curb stomped by them.

Payback can be somewhat satisfying even if it can't be hand delivered.

It’s a tricky topic but @Loyal is a tricky poster. If you have been a Rams’ fan for a long time, you may have a memory of a bad beating or a brutal loss (big game situation) against just about every team in the NFL.

I found myself not wanting to see the Bills win after they stomped us. At some point that feeling went away and I started wanting to see them win. Josh Allen is a local boy. Firebaugh High School is about half an hour from here. I definitely wanted them to win in the playoffs.

I'm with you and specifically on the Bills. Except it started for me in 2020, which ended up not being a blowout and a game we should have won.

What made me hate them that day was Josh Allen. I guess people think he's likable but seeing how much he bitched to the refs about completely clean plays just made me despise him, and then the way we lost the game just made me hate the Bills in general. Now I delight in them falling short of expectations every year

My first NFL game that I ever paid attention to was the Vikings-Cowboys Hail Mary game in the 1975 playoffs. I wanted the Vikes to win.

The next week in the NFC Championship game I wanted the Rams to beat the Cowboys and began liking them for their cool uniforms. Alas, LA got gut stomped 37-7. I was frustrated with Jaworski then as a kid. He kept getting sacked!

In the Super bowl I was kinda wanting the Cowboys. I thought Staubach was this amazing comeback QB and secretly wished he was on the Rams. I'm glad the Steelers won though.

When I came to my senses for the 1976 season I was Rams all the way. Beat those damn Cowboys back in the playoffs! Beat those Vikes! Ooops.

So I had some admiration for the cowboys briefly back then after the one-sided loss, especially at QB.

Same with the Lakers. I liked them but when they got beaten by Lenny Wilkin's Sonics I admired their players for playing so well in knocking us out and cheered for them to beat the Bullets. Then in 1979 went back to LA for good as they drafted Magic.

As for the 1985 Bears I kinda liked them. Bunch of characters. I wanted them to beat the Whiners in the playoffs the year before and cheered the 1985 revenge match. I thought the Rams had a chance vs them in the playoffs but was mad we lost. Later forgave the Bears and didn't mind them with McMahon. He had to start, not any of their backup QBs or I wouldn't care.

Yeah. I’m a Bills fan (lived in Buffalo as a lad, great fans, Buffalo deserves at least one Super Bowl) but not a big Josh Allen or Stephon Diggs fan. 1. They haven’t won anything. 2. They seem to think they are already at the top of the NFL food chain. 3. See number 1.

I used to root for the Giants when the Rams were out of it, or werent playing each other. They are the local team, saw many games at the Meadowlands as a kid in Rams gear with no issue. Pretty much co-existed, had some playoff games vs one another that were fairly innocuous, and of course we had the Flipper Tunnel Run game. But after the 2, Eli Manning 40 burger blowouts, I really lost any sort of fondness for them. Beating the Pats 2X was great and all, but it will always be f$ck them now. Lol

Rams have always been #1 for me, but my Dad, who got me interested in the Rams, kind of defected to the Redskins as his sentimental favorite when Allen went there with the "Ramskins" ,& the "Over the Hill Gang". So I kind of liked them as well up until Snyder took over.

Again, not a close 2nd for me, but if they were playing, I probably would root for them against anyone else.
