They should switch it to Friday or Saturday night. The NFL should not care about High School or College Football - most of it is unwatchable.

Noooo, you have a bye week (sunday off) then come back the next week and instead of playing sunday you play a couple of days earlier. Yes it cuts your bye week by 3 days but it offsets itself because you'll have an extended week after your thursday night game. That's really the only way you can fix Thursday night.

I'll do you one better. Have two bye weeks. First bye week is before a Thursday game for both teams who will be playing that Thursday game - 2nd bye week will be a normal bye week, Super Bowl is one week later.

This would make the season 18 weeks, which adds another week of revenue for a TV deal. It would also make Thursday games safer and better quality football.

Win/win for all parties.

The fans enjoy them including me . Take your huge paycheck and do your job is what I would tell my workers .

You ever played football? Playing a whole game is exhausting. Then to play another one on 3 days rest is really hard your body.
If the NFL is so worried about players safety then they wouldn’t have Thursday night games.
If the media didn’t like Thursday night games they wouldn’t have Thursday night games.

I think a simple solution is to start thursday night games after week 4 and only have them when a team comes off a bye. They could make that work it would just take a little thought.

Every team plays one game on Thursday. There are usually 3-5 teams off during any given bye week.

It's not like the NFL is restricted to thinking outside the box, lol. Not every team needs to play on Thursdays. They can treat it like a prime time game esp. since there would be less of them. I think it's a smart move that would improve the sloppy play that we continuously see on TNF and give the NFL another worthy prime time appearance each week.

I agree, like i said in another post. It's not like they are bound by anything other than themselves when it comes to TNF. They could easily change it and I'm sure the players would be in full agreement with their adjustments.

In hindsight Gurley not getting many carries might help against Seattle. After throwing it 70 times I hope McVay makes a concerted effort to get Todd the ball. There were some questions from Vinny and the media regarding his usage and how its just not working. That being said, I don't know how we're going to get any push in the running game. Wouldn't doubt that Les has already been on the phones because we need more talent up front. Kromer can only do so much.

Honestly look at teams like the Cowboys, with what 3 first round all pros up front? And Lae'll collins is a monster too so they have 4 star lineman. I wonder how Todd would look behind that line? His touchdown run had some ferocity to it, but we're just getting no movement at all so he's got to be frustrated. Looks very similar to Fisher's last year when the o-line was horrendous.

Not every team needs to play on Thursdays.

It used to be that way, then the few teams who did play on Thursday complained about getting shafted, therefore everyone gets shafted. I don't see that rule changing.

Yeah I played 10 years of football for free . I also worked hard for 30 plus years for a fraction of what they make . Sorry , no sympathy from me . Lets ask the military and first responders if they feel sorry for the players . The fans are the ones making them and the owners rich . I believe they get 10 days to recover after a Thursday game .

I really, really, really, really, really hope this isn’t what players are thinking about one day removed from getting kicked around and two days from playing a division rival....SMH

I think Gurley should be pretty fresh after a 5 carry for 16 yard performance.
Maybe Woods and Weddle might be a little tired , but I bet you won't hear a word from them .

So you think you’d get the same quality of game on 3 days rest compared to 6 days rest?

Both teams have the same rest . My opinion means nothing . I just like to break up a long week with a football game . If it's a snoozer , I'll do the same .

Based on Gurley’s comment and his moping when he’s on the field does this guy even have the passion to play football anymore?

Maybe that’s McVay’s issue with the guy and why he hardly uses him. Probably tired of his Ricky Williams bullshit and is trying to find a way to push him out.

Of treating employees employees well and increasing their quality of life wasn't proven to increase productivity, I'd be right there with you. Sadly, taking people like humans and not machines makes a difference. And I'm not trying to be an ass. I'm serious. I really wish you could just tell people to shut up and do the things and get top notch productivity out of them. It just doesn't work like that. The reason most Thursday night games suck is probably because both teams are mailing it in on a short week while nursing all the damn bruises from the last one.

They make a lot of money, but they deserve a lot of money. They bring in a lot of money, so they should get in somewhat equal measure to that.
