His framework could be different, if the Rams go a different length. At 35, the Packers went 3yrs.

But, I agree it’s this range you would guess. Crosby had the better 2019.

Crosby is older 35 vs 32.

Both accurate; 81% Crosby, 82% Zuerlein career rate kickers.

A big fact about Crosby over Zuerlein is durability, that is my only concern with GZ as he missed major time in 2018 and has had times where he was hurt. Again I'm for extending Zuerlein, however, if the Rams go after Ka'imi Fairbairn out of , who is 26 played at UCLA and is also a free agent for Houston, I could understand.

Will know if The Rams are thinking about drafting a kicker. I know over GZ’s career there has been questions about resigning him.
It might be time to move on since GZ was drafted in the first Snisher draft.Could have even been apart of the RG111 trade, but wasn’t.

Just going to watch it play out, my day has no baring & GZ has made some great kicks, but missed & cost me a lot of $$$.

I'm weary of the "he cost us the playoffs" narrative.

Who gets blamed for the other 6 losses then? Goff? Gurley? McVay? A 3 game losing streak where the D gave up over 100 points? Losing to the 8-8 Cowboys and 8-8 Steelers?

It's easy to play the blame game based on the record. But it's more intelligent to go a little deeper.

GZ wasn't the problem last season.

Well, Les there are a multitude of factors in the other losses, however, if Zuerlein makes that field goal against Seattle, the Rams win, it's just that easy. That being communicated the reason for the other losses were because of Wade Phillips, Skip Peete, John Fassel & Ted Rath and now those coaches are elsewhere so 2020 is a blank page, all future, no past!

A lot of people thought we shouldn't pay Saffold.

I keep sending out GZ until he is done. They don't grow on trees. Ask the Bears if finding a good kicker is as easy as some here make it seem.
Agreed. Kickers are fuckin weird. Look at Roberto Aguayo who was 69 of 78 at Florida St with all 198 extra point attempts made. Dude looked like a slam dunk pick as a kicker but what happens? Drafted by Tampon Bay and takes a nose dive, completely loses his shit and ends up out of the league.

I have a hard time with those dudes. Once again all I'll add that if they do draft a kicker get one whose ball doesn't torque all over the damn place like GZ's does.

Lol, don’t you think there are a multitude of factors in the Seattle game that could have or should have turned out differently where we don’t need to kick a field goal at the end of regulation to win? Who do you hold accountable for that? It’s a team game.

There were a few converging drivers that led to that L.

McVay let us down as a play caller that day and the passing defense made Wilson look maybe his best ever versus the Rams.

So if Zeurlien went 0-40 it would never be his fault if we lost.. because there were other reasons also.

Both of your statement are true. And I don't completely blame GZ for that loss.

However, because it was a kick as time expired it is the only game where you can say definitively that if you change the outcome of that one play you can change the L to a W without affecting anything else on that game.

Everything else occurred earlier so if you change one factor it potentially changes many others. That kick... That's a walk off winning kick.

But then it would probably affect other games, how we were viewed by other teams, and how the team reacted to other problems. I personally think we would have been better off with more confidence, but the opposite of also possible.

That kick against the Hags is a must make...........

College kickers are like a box of chocolates....you never know what your getting.

The price to resign JZ could be too high.

It's a tough decision.

It's time to move on. Not only has his production dropped dramatically he also cant be counted on to stay healthy and available. The latter is more than enough reason to move on.

Being tight with the cap... Good money tied to Hekker...

You can see why the Rams would like to save money here.

Some of you guys with the outlook that kickers ALWAYS have to make the kick are So far off base.

It's like a game winning shot in the NBA. Or a full count with the bases loaded and two outs.

Sometimes it doesn't work out. But you don't cut the guy because of that outcome.

Otherwise Micheal Jordan would have been cut an awful lot of times.

Seek results not perfection.

Until he lines up for a 59 yard kick in post season....Believe me when Zuerlein missed against Seattle and some others, I was upset, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt. My only issue with GZ is, he seems to get hurt more then most kickers and if the Rams were to sign Ka'imi Fairbairn (Texans) from UCLA , who is 6 years younger and was better from 40-49 yards I would understand.
