Let me guess... Your boy Mahomies has tilted you in this direction. We get it. You chef now.

Pocket QB's who can make throws all of the field will never go the way of the dinosaur.... Timing and accuracy are kind of important in a QB. Off schedule plays are just that... And can be forced and schemed for.

I'm calling my shot that Murray will be an average QB with a short life span. His frame will prevent him from anything more IMO. He's not Wussell Wilson 2.0.

Mahomes is definately changing the game, yes. KC is building their team like I would build my Madden dream team, speed in all three phases. It's a copycat league (DEN and OAK draft classes are a prime example.)

But there is another factor. DL's seem to getting more athletic every year while a great OL is really tough to assemble. If you can't create extra time it really limits what you can. Sam Bradford is a painful example of this.

No he isnt. He's just an incredibly freakish athlete. He's not changing anything in the game, he just plays it on a different level than anyone else in a system that exploits his talents

I'm curious to see how he develops, he has that Brett Farve type mentality in terms of throwing it, but the feet makes him a different player.

Goff reminds me a lot of Brees in the sense that he's just constantly under the radar. If Goff can consistently play at that high level without the flash I think he'll also start to get respect like Brees gets, but without that flash nobody really pays attention.

That's why Brees will never win MVP, because MVP isn't the most valuable player but moreso the flashiest player.

A lot of people were caught off guard and jealous of Goff's success in 2017-18. They want the narrative to be an I-told-u-so that last year proved he was overrated, when the reality is a bit more complicated (I guess the loss of a top-tier run game is too complicated for some).

It's not just me saying it. It's get with the new or get left behind. Wilson, Lamar, Watson, and Mahomes are all top five QB's. Fifteen years ago things were much different. The game is definitely evolving. And the teams that don't evolve with it are getting left behind.

If I’m being honest, Russ is a clear number 1, then a pretty good separation, then a race for second place with reasonable minds able to disagree on 2-4.

I’d probably rather have a rookie contract with KM than Goff on his deal but just rating the player alone (without contract value) - I’d go Goff. The best thing Jimmy G has done has been that porn Star.

You said that Mahomes is changing the game, now this is a different idea. Wilson has been doing this for 8 years and won a Superbowl when Mahomes was in High school. Aaron Rodgers has been doing it for 15 years and won a SB when 15 was in middle school. Watson was doing his thing when Mahomes was riding the pine.
Athletic QB's who can run and throw arent new, they've been winning for a while now.
Mahomes is just the best of them.
The drop back QB isnt going anywhere. Drop back QB have won 16 of last 20 SB.
IMO, if Mahomes couldnt run any more, he'd still be the best. His arm talent and route awareness is mind blowing

EDIT- Lamar is not a top 5 QB

You said so many nice things about Mahomes that I can't argue with you now.

Lamar is pretty good for a running back.

@SuperMan28 , remember who won the shootout on Monday night when the Rams played the Chiefs? (Hint, his name rhymes with "cough.")

The loss to NE when we hung 40 on their "elite defense" hurt a lot more than that game. Had we got Spags two years ago we'd be going for our third straight Super Bowl right now.

And oh yeah, a big middle finger to Dee Ford.

The two games we played NE in 2017 we hung 71 points. Both losses. So yeah, I think that says something about our defense that year lol.

We're gonna pound the Cheaters like we did in 2014 this year. (I was actually a Ram fan back then lol. I went to the Chiefs-Rams game in Arrowhead decked out in a James Lauranitis Jersey lol.)

Before you answer, in the year of 2020, it’s not Brady, Rodgers, or Brees.

I can nail 4 pretty easy;

Goff (dude, look around)
Mahomes
Wilson
Jackson

Then, I get into debate territory. It really depends if I’m building for the future or not. If one season...

5. Rodgers

Agreed, but if I'm building for the future, I'll go with Wentz - if he stays healthy. A healthy Wentz is an elite QB.

Rams vs Chiefs superbowl would be badass. I'm more of a Rams fan but I support and represent both. My two favorite teams happen to have Goff and Mahomes as QB and those are the two I'd choose to build a team around and to hell with the rest of them. Wilson is undeniably good but he's a Seahawk so eff him too.

I'd rather have Kyler Murray than Rogers. Rogers skills are noticeably tarnished. He seems pretty fragile these days as well. He's still good but I believe he's going on 37.

Everyone hating on Kyler didn't watch him play enough last year. He had a better all around statistical year than Goff in every category except for yards, and had 2 TDs less. QBR, completion percentage, passer rating, turnovers, missed throw %...all with a waaay worse team...and he was a rookie. Who were his weapons last year? The kid is very very good. He hasn't passed Goff in my eyes but I definitely see the argument that he and Goff are neck and neck right now. This year will tell us a lot about Goff's career. And if he has another bad season, then what? Do we blame it on the o-line again?

He has the demeanor of a Vick you don’t think they are on to that?

Brady, Rodgers and Brees dont qualify for 2020? Thats absurd. And why these "top 5" lists are so silly.
Are we talking for the next season? Or next 10 years?
If we are talking for 2020 there is no way I put Lamar in top 5. And for the record, I'm a huge Lamar fan. But he's got the biggest test of his career coming up, as the season after the breakout year is always a major hurdle for all big time players.
So my "top 5" for 2020 based on production & team success would be
Mahomes
Wilson
Rodgers
Brees
Goff or Wentz

My other random QB thoughts pertaining to other comments in this thread,
Murray? Dont sleep on this kid, he's the real deal. I was a big fan of his dad, another dude that played in the wrong era
As for Goff, I have no hesitation in calling this a make or break year because I have zero doubt he will have a huge season. Its his team now, McVay has pushed all his chips in. I think Goff played some great football in 2019, but also made some atrocious miss-reads, and miss-throws. The good news there is the Rams have the tape, he's got the blueprint on that next level
